Turkey recalls Israeli ambassador, cancels exercises

Turkey has recalled its Israeli ambassador after 10 people were killed in a skirmish with the Israeli military while attempting to defy an Israeli blockade and deliver aid to Gaza, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said.

In addition, Turkey has canceled three military exercises scheduled with the Israeli military and called home the Turkish youth national football team.

Turkey is demanding the security of all the members of the flotilla, some of whom came from a Turkish organization. Turkey's prime minister was returning from Chile, and the chief of the Turkish military is cutting short a trip to Egypt.

Arinc said the operation "will leave a bloody stain on the history of humanity."

It was so sickening to watch the video footage of the IDF commandos invading and storming the humanitarian ship convoy with all those assault and automatic weapons ! It was even more sickening to watch the press conference by the Israeli gov't spokesman blatantly spewing out lies and fabrications which would be "convenient" for Israel as it attempts to explain its actions to the international community. I wonder what the international community's reaction would be if an Isreali ship convoy came under the same siege by military from Arab countries ? Well, I'll tell you what..
the Isrealis would call it an act of terrorism.
The U.S., UN, and the entire Int'l community should condemn and penalize Israel for this act of terrorism.
As an American, I urge our gov't to say "Enough is enough". The way the U.S. turns a blind eye to Israel's unacceptable
acts of aggression is exactly the same as the way China turns a blind eye to North Korea.
    Enough is enough.

this was all planned and exeucted by bigger forces. case in point, turkey has elections coming up, and the current president needed a ralllying call for his own slipping ratings. what better than a call to arms over israeli aggression, ? hence the turkish solid government level support for the flotilla. israel did what any governemnt would do to protect its national interests.m and this should be recognized at face value. these activists are and were not neutral, and were set on a collission course to create this international incident, which was calculated to show israel in a bad light. lets not be fooled. did the israelis over-react, probarbly... but did they have a choice ?/ now hamas has to explain to their people why the party in gaza port is cancelled. sorry !

wow dude u really put some thought into this.. but what makes u sound stupid, no offence, is that whether or not it was a publicity stunt, there was NOTHING at all wrong with it.
Why didnt they give it to the Israelis to give it to the people of Gazza? simple, they dont trust israel, thats like saying the americans should have gave the aid to the soviets so they would give it to the people trapped in the berlin wall. GIVE ME A BREAK!! Israel is a terrorist country imprisoning people and everybody thinks its ok?!
one more thing, you know they attacked the ships in international waters right?? what do you say to that??

P.S. a people taking over other peoples land and surrounding them with a wall??? sounds familiar doesnt it? sounds like the damn communists of the soviet union. well we got similar people right now imprisoning the 1.5 million people of gazza in 139 square miles!! thats 10791 people in every square mile!! life sucks in Gaza!! what the hell do u expect its people and the people who care about them, certainly no you, to do!!

Turkey supported the flotilla which was funded by the IHH which has ties to Al Queda fundraising and the failed attempt to attack Los Angeles LAX Airport AND they knew the flotilla would be stopped WHICH was NOT a violation of international law BECAUSE the attempt to breach was well-know in advance AND they attempted to murder Israeli commandos who were armed with PAINTBALL GUNS. Turkey supports IRAN and HAMAS and these are known FACTS. Look ANY of them up.

SHAME ON ISRAEL, THEY HAVE NO RIGHT TO INVADE ANY SHIP IN INTERNATIONAL WATERS, THE WAY ISRAEL HANDLED THIS EVENT IS WRONG, DOESNT ISRAEL HAS ANY RESPECT OF HUMAN LIFE. YOU CAN NOT KILL OTHER COUNTRIES CITIZENS BECAUSE YOU DONT LIKE THE WAY THEY REACT... EU AND UN SHOULD FIND THE MURDERERS AND PUT THEM IN HUMAN RIGHTS COURTS TO DECIDE THEIR FAITH... YES NOW ISRAEL HAS LOST ALL THEIR ALLIES, INCLUDING GREECE, TURKEY, FRANCE, UK, UN, SWEDEN, AUSTRALIA.

Israel DID have the right raid the ship as soon as it left the port at Turkey because we knew it would attempt to breach a naval blockade. Look up the law if you think it's not true. Do you support Al Queda? The funders of the flotilla do. Google them, there name is IHH. Do some research BEFORE you spew insults at a nation that is one step ahead of you.

As an American I am deeply disappointed at the silence of our government over this senseless killing of peace activist. The Israeli Lobby (AIPAC) which is the defacto Chairman of The Board of US Foreign Policy Committee and controls just about every politician in this country, has its bloody hands on the mouth of all the politicians in this country. There is a special place reserved in hell for the Israeli's murderers and their supporters in Washington.

The peace activists were safe inside while the extremists assaulted commandos who came in peace to stop the ship AS EXPECTED. Why are you people missing the FACTS???

Israel's thuggish behavior has forfeited the respect of all decent countries. . Humanity is sick of Israel's inhumanity. It has become an international pariah!

The exact other way around....the extremist have gone too far by using "humanitarian aid" as front to smugle weapons and ammo....if they didn't have anything to hide they should've just let them check the cargo and be on their way....or at least agreed to deliver a letter to the soldier that was kidnapped by Hamas and has been kept in isolation for 3 long years without contact from the goverment or the red cross....don't hear you cry about that now....!!!!

The way the U.S. turns a blind eye to the inhumane and evil actions of Israel is exactly the same as the way China turns
a blind eye to the actions of North Korea.
I wonder how Israel would react if their ship or flotilla were hijacked and stormed by commandos from Turkey or any Arab country. They would whine and scream, "This is a terrorist act ! Help us, U.S., UN !"
Israel has committed an act of terrorism. I'm so sick of the way our hard earmed taxpayer dollars are being spent to support this spoiled, rotten child called Israel.
This act by Israel is an act of terrorism.

We need to send a strong voice to our leaders, and demand that we change our policy with Israel.
We shouldn't and don't need to back up and support a spoiled, bad child.

israel has stopped any communication to these ships, no free media in israel, noone knows what is going on there. All the international press should pressure israel to open the communication to the attacked victims , the world has a right to know what israel has done, this is a crime against humanity and israel should be punished by international law, israel had no right invading a ship on international waters, sending soldiers to stop civilians is wrong in its context. if one israely got injured israel would become hostile, so far according to the news 19 people got killed by israel what should the world do, ANOTHER SHAME ON ISRAEL, Sarkozy even said this was a disproportioned use of force... As i understand most of the murdered by israel was turkish. A greek captain has been shot and serious. Sweden condemns it, UK condemns it. EU condemns it, UN condemns it. Buy the way So called John Williams, any life lost by murderers should be punished by law, if you have concerns about congo or srilanka i suggest you should do something about it, instead of being racist bigoted man, you should show concern for people who tries to help the unfortunate. What have you done today then looking after your self ? I really dont believe you are not John Williams, and I guess we can all gues where you are from? SHAME ON ISRAEL, They should be taken to human rights court because of this incident and pay the price for killing innocent people,

"Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake" – Napoleon I.

Every opponent of Israel (including me) was fully expecting them to do something outrageous like this, and Israel never fails to shoot itself in the foot. Keep going Israel, the best opponent is after all, the one who undoes himself. We will just stand of the side and watch the show.

Does this remind anyone of the behavior of the Nazis perhaps? How can anyone in the world defend this?

A blockade for DEMOCTRATICALLY electing a government, be it Hamas, that does not bend to the will of Israel? Is that the crime of the people in Gaza that they are being tried for?

And the US footing the bill for the defense ministry with my tax money? I would call that financing terrorism and piracy. History has repeated itself over and over, ruthless tyrants and invaders will not prevail, and neither will Israel.

It appears that THREE FULL MACHINE GUN CLIPS were fired into the peaceful Gaza food relief protesters by the goose stepping heavy handed Israeli Commando's. Ten protesters were immediately killed, dozens wounded. It appears the bridge on the Turkish cargo ship was first sprayed with machine gun fire severely wounding the Turkish captain.

Perhaps American Political Leaders will respond to this outrageous attack by Israeli Commando's on unarmed peaceful protesters on passenger and cargo ships in INTERNATIONAL WATERS, After Turkey serious contemplates disallowing the US Military from moving its cargo thru Turkey to support the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

If Turkey gives the bird to America in regards to using its nation as a cargo and fuel gateway to the US Military in Afghanistan and Iraq, that would certainly get American Politicians and War-planners attention.

Meanwhile Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is working her ass off convincing China to reign in North Korean aggression, and Israel pulls this crap! Israel is begging for America to force a Middle East peace treaty down Israel's throat and this latest round of Israeli Commando's machine gunning unarmed civilians is the latest shout-out of many to do that NOW.
