Plane crashes in New Mexico killing at least five

A private plane with seven people on board crashed in Sierra Blaca, New Mexico, killing at least five people, an FAA spokesperson told CNN.

The Cessna 310, a private aircraft, crashed around 12:00 p.m. E.T., Lynn Lunsford, a spokesperson for the FAA's Southwest Regional Operations said.

Lunsford said at this point officials are unsure of the plane's origin or destination and they are not releasing the tail number of the plane yet. Firefighters are at the scene, Lunsford said.

    They were on their way to spread the ashes of one of the mens mother. They were all wondeful people. a coach and his wife died, their 2 kids are in icu and the other family died aswell. Such a sad sad day. They will be missed. Please pray for the 2 boys.

    I agree, some people are so heartless, they don't care who they hurt, I too live in wonderful granbury and feel that these people didn't do anything to deserve this. I only wish I knew the family even better. My son played football with Kristopher and he was a sweet kid. May God be with them and strengthen their bodies and heal them. May God also teach and show them of his presence.
