Helicopter crash kills 11 in Mexico

Eleven members of Mexico's military died in a helicopter crash in the
state of Durango, Mexico's official agency, Notimex, reported  Saturday.
The agency did not mention the exact time of the crash but said that poor weather conditions may have contributed to the accident.

Former NBA player Manute Bol dies at 47

Manute Bol, one of the tallest players in NBA history, died Saturday at the age of 47, a spokeswoman with the University of Virginia Medical Center confirmed to CNN.

BP oil collection interrupted

BP stopped recovering oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico on Friday night because of a problem aboard the drilling ship Discover Enterprise, said Ayla Kelley, spokesperson for the Deepwater Horizon Command Center. Oil collection stopped for 10 hours, resuming at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Storm kills one in Michigan

Severe thunderstorms in the Detroit area on Friday night left one person dead and several houses damaged, a local official in Michigan told CNN on Saturday.

Marc Breckenridge, Washtenaw County emergency service director, said a fallen tree pinned a woman in her car and lightning caused fires at several houses.
