Hmmm....Mexico believes it can force us to take in its citizens who come here illegally. I can't wait for this to reach the Supreme Court!

mexico: you're breaking my heart! of COURSE they want the law thrown out (it won't be) because they don't want them in their country, they WANT them to leave! If China can build a 'great wall', why can't we? on the mexican side place signs along the fence saying "do not climb. you will be shot" and then DO IT! we need to enforce our laws! califronia doesn't want the law to succeed because they know the illegals will then move to california! GO HOME ILLEGALS – the tide is changing! we are taking our country back and we are coming for you!

      – Half the republicans

standing up and applauding Presidente Calderón.

Herrera; the only reason you saw the Democrats stand was to grab votes they will need to stay in power. If you actually were paying attention you would have seen the republicans sitting. When the democrats heard the true statement from Calderone they were not so sure of the standing ovation they gave.

It's amazing we are still a country. Almost all comments are racist laden in some form. It's sad that people such as El Salvadorians, Guatemalans, Costa Ricans all get mixed up with Mexican. It so happens it is the country next to our boarder. I am surprised that the people commenting even read the news, so ignorant. So if you want to get into it, if black people were never brought over for slavery, would Los Angeles have it's Compton or Watts. Would the South be an all white area? My point is that you can't generalize all to Mexican. AS AMERICANS I WOULD ASSUME YOU ALL HAVE AN EDUCATION.

Peoples ire at Mexico and Mexican illegals is warranted. Perhaps you didn't read the article....let me recap. MEXICO IS CHALLENGING OUR LAW. Oddly enough, no other boarder country is challenging this. Are there illegal immigrants of other nationalities, yes, but the vast majority appear to be from our neighbor to the south. I have NO problem with immigration, it just needs to be LEGAL immigration.

Based on your well thought out and grammatically correct summation of the article and the comments, it would be safe to say that you slept through most of the English Composition courses you took during your extensive educational experience. This writer doesn't mention anything about "race" in the script, but is simply mentioning that the COUNTRY of MEXICO, wishes to challenge a LAW passed in one of the 50 United States of AMERICA!!! Figure it out.

Bill- the problem is not whether or not people from Mexico and other countries should be able to move here, but they need to do it legally, its the people here illegally who need to be controlled and kept from coming here! They are getting health care without paying taxes, they get all sorts of benefits but don't contribute to our taxes, and they didn't more here the right and legal way. That is most people's problem, not them actually moving here... but mostly, that the country of Mexico thinks they have the right to tell Arizona what laws should pass and what shouldn't.

America was made through hard work and creative people taking responsibility for themselves and building their dreams. These illegals are a drain on our society. They come here demanding healthcare, food stamps, government dervices, but add very little to the fabric of that structure. You simply can not just walk into someones house and help yourself to what's in the fridge and the cupboards. You should know that.

Yoor point blaming Bush Jr. is rediculous. Better to blame Barney Frank and Chris Dodd for lending sheenanigans that were started during the Clinton years. If you're going to blame, at least get those responsible. Read some history, dudue.

You have to be joking. Mexico needs to keep its thugs, drug dealers, punks, thieves and drunks. Mexico needs to take care of its own and let Arizona alone. This is the United States. Obama needs to realize he is part of the United States and took an oath to the effect. More people need to pray. The USA is in deep trouble.

there is no reason we should in any way consider this appeal. i find this law to be one of the smartest thingsd we have done to stop the influx of illegals into this country. whether it has helped any yet is yet to be seen. Why should we be changing OUR laws and regs to suit these other countries? If they cant come legally then they dont need to be here!!

They care because illegal and legal mexicans in the US provide 1/3 of the mexican GDP every year through the form of income earned in the US that is then sent back to Mexico.

Ramon – don't be stupid. Brad is simply pointing out the hypocracy of any Mexican official who would make such a request while his own country enforces laws as harsh or harsher. And why not adopt Mexico's imigration laws? Every other country on the planet has imigration laws far stricter than the Arizona law. We should be no different. It's only prudent to protect your nation.
