Security Brief: What happened at McChrystal, Obama meeting

A source close to Gen. Stanley McChrystal provided the first account of what happened in Wednesday's White House meeting between the general and President Barack Obama.

According to the source, McChrystal briefly explained the magazine article at the center of the controversy and took responsibility, then offered his resignation. Obama accepted the resignation, the source said.

The president "had no intention of keeping him," according to the source.

In addition, the source said McChrystal will not return to Afghanistan. His team will go back to pack up on his behalf.

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. I can only imagine what would have been said about President Obama if he had kept McChrystal. Make up your mind people.

If I'm the president and one of my generals are talking me down then, guess what, he's history. NEXT. Can't understand how someone could rise to the rank of general and not understand this.

Everyone talking about military insubordination.. what exactly asked the Commander in Chief that the General hasn't done? Are there any facts other than all those words hunted by a reporter?

General McChrystal was wrong to allow the news media to quote his staff. His staff however was totally accurate in their description and assessments of the civilian leadership in this Administration. Nevertheless I pray for Obama every day since, as incompetent and left wing as he and his advisers may be, God forbid we should ever have a nitwit like Biden in the position of Commander-in-Chief.

Another perfect example of the media ruining another persons livelyhood reguardless of the consequences. There are somethings that should be left unreported reguardless what has been said or done. Now, in this case, Obama had to over-react to a probably innocent conversation from one person about another. All due to the Rolling Stone Magazine need to print a pointless article about nothing note worthy. Every person in the world (and call me a liar) talks trash about other people behind their backs. Its called venting....we all do it.....Get over it....

Anyone who voted for Bush should not be allowed to vote ever again. Anyone who voted for Obama should not be allowed to vote ever again. If you voted for Bush and Obama, then you must be the biggest idiot on the face of the planet and only God can save you.

In reality, there is no difference between Bush and Obama other than skin color. Oh, Obama can read a speech much better than Bush.

Oh maybe I should watch what I say, he will have his staff call me in and ask me to leave the country!! Next election, voting ALL Republican even if I don't like them. Tired of these idots. I am so ashamed of our President and what we look like for electing him.

Yo Mark..... Try this at work. Talk down your boss, just as an experiment. You know how many generals are out there that are very qualified to take this job who understand basic cause and effect? When you do, remember to take a blow-out box with you because you will need it. Obviously you have never been in the military or you would not have made such a moron comment.
