10:00 a.m. – Deepwater drilling technology hearing – House Energy and Environment subcommittee holds a hearing on “Deepwater Drilling Technology, Research and Development.”

11:00 a.m. – Senate hearing – offshore oil and gas oversight- Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and newly appointed Bureau of Ocean Energy Director Michael Bromwich will testify before a Senate panel about reforms aimed at strengthening offshore oil and gas oversight.

11:30 a.m. – Michelle Obama/Justice Dept. visit – The First Lady will continue her outreach to government agencies with a visit to the Department of Justice.  She will thank employees for their tireless work upholding our nation’s laws and securing the rights of citizens.

2:00 p.m. – Medicare hearing – Members of the House Energy and Commerce’s health panel will be seeking specific answers from the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission’s chairman on physician payment and the impact of health reform on Medicare beneficiaries at a hearing.

2:30 p.m. – U.S./China trade hearing- Senate Finance committee holds a hearing to examine the U.S./China economic relationship with Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and U.S. Trade Representative Ronald Kirk.

2:50 p.m. – Obama physical fitness event-  The President and First Lady will make remarks at an event highlighting the work of the Physical Fitness Council. The First Lady will then participate in physical activities with school children.

3:00 p.m. – Biden/High School All Service team recognition event- Vice President Biden will attend a White House event with the “Parade All-American High School Service Team” to recognize high school students who are changing their communities through a commitment to public service.
