Military: U.S. soldier to be charged in leak of strike video

[Updated at 11:46 a.m.] The U.S. military said Tuesday it is pressing criminal charges against Pfc. Bradley E. Manning, 22, for allegedly transferring classified data onto his personal computer and adding unauthorized software to a classified computer system.

Manning of Potomac, Maryland, is suspected of leaking a classified 2007 video of an Apache helicopter strike that killed 12 civilians in Baghdad, including two journalists from the Reuters wire service, the military said.

Manning was deployed with the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, in Baghdad, Iraq, according to the military.

According to Wired.com, Manning leaked the video to the whistle-blower website WikiLeaks.com, which posted the video in April. Wired.com reported that Manning confessed to the leak in a series of online chats with a former computer hacker.

He allegedly owned up to leaking other items to WikiLeaks, including a classified Army document assessing the threat level of the website, according to the article, as well as State Department cables.

The soldier who leaked this video is a HERO! The crimes of the New World Order must be exposed. They have de-Humanized our soldiers and now our soldiers are de-Humanizing everyone they can. Listen to Alex Jones at INFOWARS.com for the REAL TRUTH.
Targeting journalists is a tactic used in wars. Many other Journalists have died too this way, by American Forces in the past. Remember when our tanks fired into a high-rise hotel in Baghdad during the start of this war? ...yep only Journalists were killed. They knew exactly what room they were in too.

Also an A-10 fired into the Al-Jazera TV station after they aired a beheading video.
There is a Pat Tilman movie coming out soon to expose that cover-up and we all know they lied about the Jessica Lynch story, she went before Congress to expose that. The wars are illegal to get resources, Opium and Oil.

Now this is a soldier who should be receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor. He is one of the few deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan that I have heard of actually upholding his oath of service.

It's amazing all the comments on this site supporting the war crimes against the United States that were committed by the Bush administration. Who knew there were so many traitors in our midst.

The military commanders of that unit ALL THE WAY UP THE CHAIN should be FIRED! These actions are obviously "business as usual". How is it that the WHISTLEBLOWER is being persecuted rather than those who committed the crime and are trying to cover it up - who are in FACT THE PERPETRATORS!

Killing innocent civilians, children included, is just fine with the US government. Telling somebody that we are doing it, that's a crime.
Wow, The US is turning more in to North Korea everyday. What's next? Are they going to try to censor the entire internet? Oh yeah, they are.
Whatever happened to 'The Land of the Free'?

Honesty is the best policy and what this soldier is very courageous. He just told the truth to open the peoples eye and got punished and what he really deserved was a award from the government not punishment for telling the truth. For example, even when you go to the courthouse they till you to stand up and tell the truth and nothing but the truth, so what is all the commottion about. People always say to be honest and you will not get into trouble, please president Obama do something before it becomes too too late and every american should wake up and help their country not destroy it.
