Reports: LeBron heading for the Heat

If media reports are right LeBron James may not be playing against Dwayne Wade -- but with him instead.

Published reports say LeBron James is planning to join the Miami Heat.

Newsday's Alan Hahn tweeted the news just after midnight.

ESPN followed Hahn's report with its own, also saying James is heading for Miami to join fellow stars Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

If the reports are accurate, the Heat will have hit the jackpot in the most frenzied talent chase in NBA history, landing the three top free agents.Things could still change of course. Sports Illustrated's Ian Thomsen doesn't believe the reports and thinks James will return to Cleveland.

Eatocracy blog: Dear LeBron, come for the hoops, stay for the grub

Wherever he decides to play, Us Magazine says LeBron has a big party planned in South Beach this weekend.

Since he knows his new deal will pay him anywhere from about $96 to 125 million LeBron can afford the South Beach soiree' and a new place to live. CNNMoney shows us there are no shortage of housing options in his price range.

James is unlikely to confirm or deny any of this today since he's planning to announce his decision in a prime-time special on ESPN tonight.

He's going to Miami I believe; I saw on Wikipedia this morning that his name and jersey was listed on the Current Roster for the Miami Heat, but it was taken down a few hours later today. It may have been mis-information, but it was funny though.

Why are people talking about money, he has money, but no rings that is what he is after. They will say Cleveland brought in shaq big joke if u ask me. The reason jordan stayed is simple. Scotty, Rodman, and Kerr. Don't think its the same in Clevland. People just want to hate James. What about Wade who had the shot to go play for his home town in Chicago but didn't, why arent u attacking him. Last don't u think that NIKE started this whole thing with ESPN and using James as some publicity. But MONEY is nothing to James and people need to realize this has nothing to do with Money

I think he will be staying in Ohio. He seems like a loyal fellow, unlike Amare who ditched us after we made him a superstar in arizona. If not, Lebron will be in Miami with Bosh and Wade. They will be an unstoppable force for years to come.

Well LeBron aka the Attention Queen can never win a championship. However great people call a player to be, if he can't can't bring his team together to win a championship he's no better than anyone else out there. GO LAKERS!!!

You are right. Who cares where he goes. If people are willing to take the time to watch ESPN they are nuts. What about all the trouble in the world today. To me that is news worthy. Killings, kidnappings, homelessness, the war we are in,child abuse, the state of this country and on and on. Why can't one high payed athlete talk to the country in finding a solution to and offer their support in any of these questions. Someone said they are all a bunch of thugs and they are right (basketball players)......................
