ESPN's Erin Andrews speaks in support of tougher stalking law

The man convicted of videotaping her through a hotel peephole was sentenced to two years in prison, ESPN reporter Erin Andrews said Tuesday, but in a way, she was sentenced to a lifetime of looking over her

"The one thing that I think is very, very sad about the whole ordeal is, he's going to jail for a little over two years," said Andrews, who appeared with members of Congress on Tuesday in support of legislation to strengthen federal stalking laws. "That video on the Internet will be there for the rest of my life."

Someday, she said, she will need to explain the video to her future husband and children.

Hey, my name is Andrea Morgan. I am from Ellabell Ga., my husband and I have been stalked by someone for years, It has been going on sense I first met him. It is a EX- wife or EX-girl friend ~ may be both who knows. We have gotten PRIVATE callers all day and night . It goes on for months and stops and starts again. We can't change his number due to the fact we both own businesses. The police will not help . The courts will not request the cell phone records and we can't afford a attorney. It is our number we pay monthly for it , this person has our number , that belongs to us . BUT we are not allowed to have theirs. The police protect them and hang us out to dry. I am on medication because it has hurt me , and I feel our marriage has suffered tremendously. This has caused me to have doubts about him. I feel my marriage will never be what it would have been. My quality of life has suffered . And no one thinks this matters. There is no justice. If I were a celebrity I would have counted and been helped. But I am only Danny's wife and no one cares. I would like to change the law that protects PRIVATE CALLERS. Is there any one out there who wants to help or who has had these same experiences?

    Yours Truly , A..

No, nobody wants to help you. Maybe more medication will magically fix your problems.

Stalking, I believe, is demon inspired. As a victim of stalking since age of 4 by my natural mother who gave me to my Uncle and aunt to raise, stalking was done against me to punish my uncle over money matters.I have been a victim of stalking by police for about 80 years because of lies by my natural mother and foster mother and have never been convicted of a crime. Stalking is very evil and is enjoyed as a sport for personal egos. I was always at the wrong place at the right time.

It is important to urge congress to pass a stalking legislation that would help protect women, gays, activists, whistle blowers, and people who file law suits against people of bigotry who violate their civil rights. The proposed stalking law must be crafted so that it protects everyone that is stalked. This should include people being stalked by criminal organizations carrying out vendettas for rich and powerful people. Like in the case of the Pentagon Papers, these transgressions cast a dark shadow over law enforcement on all levels.

Yes Ed, I understand about protecting the other kinds of abuse. I have been a victim of domestic violence in my past , never by Danny. And I support the protection of women, gays, activists, whistle blowers, and people who file law suits against people of bigotry who violate their civil rights. But I am someone who needed help. I thank God it has mostly stopped. STALKING IS A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY! If the judge who would not help were suffering as Danny and I did he would have pulled those cell phone records in a HEARTBEAT!
