Wildfires put Kern County, California under state of emergency

Kern County - in southern California - was under a state of emergency Wednesday as a result of spreading wildfires that have destroyed 25 homes, caused more than 2,300 people to evacuate and burned 15,000 acres.

On Tuesday afternoon, firefighters were called to a new wild fire southeast of Tehachapi. By late Tuesday night the fire had grown threatening 150 structures, authorities reported. Fire crews battled through the night with aircraft, fire engines, and bulldozers. Crews worked throughout the night protecting homes and continuing to work on containment.

An evacuation center was set up at the old junior high school nearby for evacuees and their pets. Animal control was taking large animals, authorities said.

Some of the areas are where my wife and I grew up and the areas were mostly parklands then but even though they are urbanized, they are quite vulnerable and we hope that more cops and detectives will soon find the person or persons responsible for the arsons and hang them. If they get deported, let them get hanged in their own countries. The governor of Arizona once mentioned off the press that she wants the illegal immigrants to be fed to the rats in the sewers but in hondorus or elsalvador. We kind of laughed when we heard her mentioned it but we sort of agree with her on this. Why spend money on putting these bums in our prisons? That's silly! Do what the Arizona governor said and save us the money!
