Wyclef Jean to announce run for Haitian presidency

Wyclef Jean will announce exclusively on CNN's "Larry King Live" Thursday night that he intends to run for president of Haiti, a source close to the Haitian recording artist said Tuesday.

Jean has been an outspoken proponent of Haiti through his Yele Foundation and was one of the first celebrities to offer aid after the devastating earthquake there in January. He told CNN late last month that he has filled out the necessary paperwork to make a run at the country's highest office.

Jean, who was born in Haiti, shot to fame in the mid-1990s as a member of The Fugees, a U.S.-based hip-hop and reggae group. He performs now as a solo artist.

We should all fund Wycliff. Maybe we will finally expose why Haiti has never been allowed to thrive. The country is forced to give a part of its GNP to France to this day as a result of defeating Napoleon's army and freeing itself from slavery. This is why Aristide was unseated. He was going to take it to the United Nations. Go Wycliff.

Love can also be pathological, compulsive, and even repressive. Love without respecting and loving oneself is futile. Wyclef Jean is not legally qualified to run for the executive, nor is he qualified professionally to become President. If Sarah Palin is not qualified for the U.S. imagine a Wyclef who is less educated than Palin! Love has got nothing to do with qualification.

I believe this Jean Joseph is working for Wyclef... I thought a while ago when there was some MEN in Haiti, The president suppose to speak our language .. meaning : Creole or French... Now after the earthquake are we want a President who doesn't speak French not even a good creole ?... Because the guy went to Haiti with a bunch of people trying to market themselves while 300.000 smelly dead bodies around the country that make him valuable to be the next Haitian president.. Come on people be serious ..WHAT IS GOING ON?? we know for fact who is Wyclef Jean If someone owes 2.1 million dollars to the IRS how much he will owes to Haiti when he become PRESIDENT... OMG.. now we have a problem that only haitian have to solve... Sure I dont need Duvalier Jean Claude because he's a past dreams but nobody dont talk about the 20 millions dollars that he gave to the red cross for haiti. because the politicians want to send their new man to control the country... which country??? A land with nothing... one word: with no real men... Bags of rice or plastic tents cant help people that's why we have the Dominican Republic disease... every yong haitian wanna go to dominican republic.

i think everyone is going crazy about this whole situation...Haiti do not need a well creole and french spoken president. that should not be the main focus...the main focus should be the main problems of Haiti, like poverty or the crimes and ext the fact that he does not speak creole and french fluently should be the least of the Haitian nations problem..at least he is devoted to his country unlike most of the past presidents.. i think it is a good idea for wyclef jean to run for president of Haiti

thats really crazy like u said... you may be right sir but I think .. you gonna have to talk to your people when you are president...and when you have to tell them something... So give them a bag of rice and some tents or put 4000 young Haitian in the street with a broom being lazy (Program from PNUD International Organisation) and with a broken education
.. and they talking about jobs and education... I believe the real Haitian knows about the Market.. So you can get anyone from here to be the next Haitian president because Haitian are nothing.. If OBAMA didn't know how to talk to American do you think H'ill be there. Wyclef bought one of the most popular TV station in haiti they was very good and the best one at the time ( TELEMAX) since he bought it, the station became the ugliest one... technic=zero, program =zero, everything =zero... again and again we dont need a president to give some tents or bag of rice.. anyone can do that.... DONT GIVE US A FISH EVERYDAY, JUST SHOW US WHEN IT'S GOOD TO PICK IT UP IN THE RIVER.. the fact is I'm Haitian , I saw, I lived and I'm concerned.

Dear fellow I am not a politician i just have a point of view.well what i want to say is that Haiti need a revive not a president,a president cannot solve haiti problems nor religion but Jesus-christ[GOD]among all nations are two nations that pread around the world these are israel and haitian and most harrassed but things that happened in other to come to repentence[return to God] I know that not people want to hear but that what it is.Haiti not in need of a president but someone that be able to revive the country.God bless.

This is totally out of the question.Wyclef might have some good intention.
,He might feel for the haitians people, however does not have the qualification, does not have the education, does not have the experience to run for President. It would be an embarrassment for the Country, for the haitians people having someone
with no qualification, someone who is not a Leader, someone who does not speak english properly, someone who does not speak Creole, neither French,to become President of Haiti. This is just a nonsense and totally absurde.

Eric with cando.org has the proceedure to get the food out of a storage and Dr. Gupta called him ! He got there and the kids down the street recieved food needed. Does everyone know where to find blood and a little kid died a few weeks ago cause they couldn't find blood and it was reported on Anderson Cooper.Where is Wyclef's on line for president campaign web site ? Does Bill Clinton have the schedule for money pledged from the US and other countries that Haiti has not recieved ? How many contracts to clean up implemented and what are the start dates ? Ask Bill Clinton !

Go Wyclef ? Great interview with Blitizer reguardless of technical difficulties and he sounds straight up and will do a great job ! Never heard his music in my life time but bet he'd make a fantastic president. We have some questions and what is that food Americans are $ sending and supporting doing locked up in storage buildings the size of a football stadium ? What is Mr. Wyclef doing about it and does he have the secret proceedure to get that food out and to the people ? The expiration dates on the food running out and sitting there when little kids need to eat. He's suppoprting education and the young people are excited about him.
