Police: Four bodies found in Maryland home

[Updated 6:09 p.m.] Investigators are questioning at least one person in the deaths of four people found Friday in a debris-filled Maryland home that "gives the appearance of a landfill," the police chief said.  Read the full story on CNN.com

[Updated 1:17 p.m.] Police were investigating the deaths of four people Friday in a home in Riverdale, Maryland, just outside Washington, according to Prince George's County law enforcement officials.

The bodies of two women as well as one boy and one girl - both under the age of 6 - were discovered shortly after authorities responded to an assault complaint between 2:45 and 3 a.m., Police Chief Roberto Hylton said.

The victims may be from Congo, he said.

Hylton said police are in the process of interviewing several "persons of interest," and do not believe the crime was random.

The crime "appears to be personal in nature," he said. The individual responsible for the crime "may be known to the victims," and "that's the theory we're proceeding on." But we're "not going to speculate as to the motive."

Hylton described the crime scene - located in a living space above a house's garage - as "horrific."

"No human being should have been living" there, he said, noting that there was no running water, air conditioning, or toilets. "There's trash and garbage" everywhere, he said.

Officers were being given specialized outfits and equipment to help clear the debris, Hylton said.

Police know the cause of death, but refused to divulge any details because the case is still evolving, Hylton said.

The main home was being rented out, and police were in the process of identifying the owner, he said. - CNN's Alan Silverleib contributed to this report

So 4 people get murdered in a town that doesn't have murders, and the response is:

A handful of people like me who live here who found out about it here first to know to turn on the TV.

A horde of people complaining that CNN doesn't know anything more than the rest of us and hasn't given them someone to convict in the press already (Wonder if Nancy Grace will come in and decide to name someone guilty in her smarmy b1tch manner as she usually does soon?)

And even more people who decide to make it all about race, without a shred more information than the rest of us have – usually the same people who are complaining that CNN isn't *giving* any details.

Now all we need is Sarah Palin declaring she could see the bodies from her house, and a couple of Rush-I'm-an-*ex*-addict-honest-Limburgh fans saying that it was actually Obama who killed the Congolese because he's really from there and they were going to blow the whistle on him, and we've got the perfect example of why CNN should save its bandwidth and nuke the comments section.

I swear, this is better than Comedy Central – and you guys don't even get paid!

It is not amazing how one "word" can change the whole subject and conversation!?The murder of two women and two children to maroon then to race and on and on. The word maroon also means: To abandon(a person) in a remote place. Just wanted to clear that up but the Bug Bunny was what the person was referring to that seemed to get everyone in
an up roar!! This has truned out to be quite interesting but i do not think the race should of been brought into it. there is alot more to this story and Fox, CNN may find out and then again they may not they get their stories confused with each other and one never knows what is really true and what is not!!

Race got brought into because it's the #1 excuse for why a crime was committed! As if anyone hasn't noticed. I know we haven't heard the race of the perp....but I'll bet a box of macraroon cookies it was someone "of color"

I seriously thought that terms such as "of color" went out of "normal" people's vocabulary in the 60's or at least the 70's. There will always be racists – both black, white, purple, green, orange, etc. and the world would be a much better place without them, but instead 2 innocent children get what the racists deserve.
