Fidel Castro addresses assembly

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro addressed a special session of the National Assembly for the first time in four years Saturday.

Castro had kept out of sight while he recuperated from a life-threatening intestinal illness that required several surgeries.

I can't believe there are people here calling names at the news networks. Yes, some news networks are known for stretching the truth and taking many things out of context, but on something like this, nothing is being stretched. Fox is not racist & CNN is not castro news network. If anything it's communist news network. lol lol jk 🙂

As a Cuban American living in South Florida, that has relatives living in Cuba, things are not what they seem. What good is a education in Cuba, if when you speak out against the government, they kick you out of the Universities or that a Doctor in Cuba has to use their own car as a taxi for tourism, because the government pay is not enough to put food on the table. I have to send my sister, U.S. dollars so she can buy medicine, because that is the only way she can buy it. The government is broke. Communism does not work, it took the Soviet Union about 70 years to figure this out. If the Castro brothers hate the U.S.A. so much why do they take my dollars, because the government takes a big percentage for themselves. The Castro brothers live better than anybody in this world, they own a whole country and do whatever they want in Cuba. Fidel and his brother are dinosaurs. Viva the U.S.A., the best country in the world.

INSPIRING. So many people have NO idea what America really is. If people would look at the mistakes made by other countries, we would stop making them.

I was in cuba and I saw the horific living conditions first hand, lack of clean water, lack of food. There is no building maintanence, a doctor in cuba gets paid 12.00 pesos a month. How can u defend this ? But fidel lives like a king, he doesn't care how the cuban people live, they live in fear under his dictatorship. People who take great about fidel are usually fidel's crommies who invade blog sites to try and mask the unjust treatment and to spread good word about cuba's evil leadership- we americans know better. I am cuban and have family there and its heart breaking to see how he has the cuban people living.

James C, you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. your lack of information about what happened in Cuba during the Revolution could fill a book.

"Bola de Churre" ( ball of dirt)How he was called on his University of Havana days.
By the way to all those that believe in him, he and another of the students attending\
the University were the only ones with brand new cars that his rich father gave him.
He never worked in his life.
This guy tried his luck in bussiness to have a Hot Dog Stand in Havana and did not
succeed (bankrupt)so instead he became a Revolutionary and 50 years later. He just confessed
that it does not work (bankrupt) again.
1,500,000 cubans have left the country out of 6,000,000
    100,000 killed by him
150,000 drowned or lost at sea

    GREAT REVOLUTION??
