Tiger keeps tailing – plays worst tourney ever

Tiger Woods shot a 7 over par 77 on Sunday in the final round of the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational to complete his worst tournament as a professional at 18 over par.

"I don't see how it can be fun shooting 18 over especially since my handicap is supposed to be zero," Woods said after the round in which he carded six bogeys and two double bogeys. It was his worst round of the four day tournament and tied his worst final round as a pro.

"It's nice that the tournament's over and we can focus on next week," the world's No. 1 golfer - at least for the moment - said. Phil Mickelson can take over the No. 1 spot in the world golf rankings if he finishes fourth or better on Sunday afternoon at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

Woods and the rest of the tour head next week to Kohler, Wisconsin, and the PGA Championship, the last of the four major tournaments for 2010.

Looks like he can't play golf unless he has an endless supply of tail

Joe, It's like the A&E program, Intervention, gotta hit rock bottom first, then he can make a come back. He must get used to playing with a different mind set. Personal life aside he is a great sportsman. The guy can compete! He'll be back, eventually.

this guy mike evidently never played sports. you know the kind, the one who always came in last place in PE class or could not make the varsity. a real bush leaguer. until you played on the varsity in high school and college and were on the national honor society, your just a loser.
you sound like a white trash republican....

He should have taken a longer break from the sport to get his $h!t together. Great to see a decent human being, Phil Mickelson, on top.

Give the guy a break, he is going through some extremely serious person issues, all of which are more important than any golf game.

He will be back. Patience all.

Nobody needs to give this guy a break. Who's fault is his "serious person issues"? Not me. Does he suck at golf right now? Hell Yes. If he wants a break, he should take one. That's my 2 cents worth.

Love him or hate him, golf has been a bit of a snooze-fest without Tiger in the mix. He is the MJ or Gretzky of his sport, and people want to see the best players play their best, regardless of what they do away from the game.

OK, I'll be the one to ask the unthinkable. Is this the kind of performance we should expect from a post-HGH Tiger Woods?

I do not believe so. Golf is more about strategy and accuracy rather than power. I don't believe HGH increases an athlete's level of accuracy

      Just my thought

I think he just doesn't want to make the Ryder Cup. With the other players taking the wives, it was too much for him. Oh well, we can win without him.

If you have been around sports for any legnth of time I would ask that you explain to all of us how would a medical perscription drug or even a performance enhanced drug help a golfer? Someone please share the light on that? Expspecially since this particular individual has been crushing the ball since his early teens.

The same thing could probably be said about Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. Tiger is the only golfer on the PGA tour who is built like a staring Safety in the NFL. Probably the only people who can accurately answer your question about how an athelete's performance is enhanced with these drugs, are the ones taking them.

      @ Len....
Built like a safety? C'mon dude, that's a bit exaggerated, no?

Sure, it looks like he hits the weights from time to time but he is not that big. Looks more toned and probably more genetics than anything. I bet he can bench 200 lbs at best. He only weighs ~185-190

Maybe Tiger should just bounce back, as if nothing has happened in his life, and you would be happy? Take a back seat for once and try to say nothing.

Two things come to mind. Bad things happen to bad people and what goes around comes around! I, like many, hope things continue to go downhill in the golf department for Mr. Woods.

It's kind of funny the reaction of people to what has happened to Tiger Woods. People act like they are perfect. Like they have never done anything wrong, unethical, or are just perfect. Ask yourselves how many perfect people do you know? Maybe because we were hoping that he is perfect and he has let us down. Maybe we should realize no one is perfect. Believe me, I'm not saying what he did is right, quite the opposite. I'm just amazed at the reactions this store brings. Unfortunate at what he did, but even more unfortunate is our reactions.

Wow, nice attempt to increase personal self esteem. I don't think that style works in the long run; narcissistic personalities are destined for failure.

Unless tiger is a rival of your favorite golfer I do not see a reason for your comment. Just my opinion

Perhaps there are other issues, of which we know nothing, with which Tiger must deal. There may be a dependency issue that has not yet been revealed. Hopefully, he is dealing with it, or we have not yet seen bottom.

People think he $uck$ because he's built a public image based on high moral character, the squeaky clean winner and devoted family man attributes, and used that image to make millions mostly by selling us stuff we didn't need. It was great to see a nice guy finish first. Then BAM it comes to light he is not a nice person; that the great golf game is the only real thing he had going for him.
