Tiger keeps tailing – plays worst tourney ever

Tiger Woods shot a 7 over par 77 on Sunday in the final round of the World Golf Championships - Bridgestone Invitational to complete his worst tournament as a professional at 18 over par.

"I don't see how it can be fun shooting 18 over especially since my handicap is supposed to be zero," Woods said after the round in which he carded six bogeys and two double bogeys. It was his worst round of the four day tournament and tied his worst final round as a pro.

"It's nice that the tournament's over and we can focus on next week," the world's No. 1 golfer - at least for the moment - said. Phil Mickelson can take over the No. 1 spot in the world golf rankings if he finishes fourth or better on Sunday afternoon at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

Woods and the rest of the tour head next week to Kohler, Wisconsin, and the PGA Championship, the last of the four major tournaments for 2010.

Golf for him was like spending a night with a woman. He end having the real stuff, and that got him out of the game for good. He might need to come to my rehab where I'll show him how to make woopie to cats and dogs, and I can guarantee him his golf will improve.

It think it is just natural attrition, he is older, he has had major injuries, he has been on top for a long while. All good things come to an end. I guess if a sport can only be exciting with a certain player winning all the time it doesn't say much for said sport.

To all who have posted that they can now play as good as Tiger and post 18 over over four rounds at a PGA tournament competing against the best in the world from the tips on the toughest courses with overgrown rough and intentionally narrowed fairways - no you can't.

Woods just needs a bailout. We should send him some economic stimulus money.

Perhaps his divorce settlement is based on his earnings. If his earnings are lower, the alimony and child support will be lower. He may be playing it smart. After the divorce, mayhaps his playing will improve. Just an idea.

It's interesting how society's losers love to laugh at and enjoy the struggles of their fellow human beings. It must make them feel that their lives actually have meaning or they somehow feel superior. So, if that is what it takes to feel important, they have my sympathy, but certainly, they do not my respect.

Maybe it's a muscle memory/strength thing. He's gotten so buff that maybe he's not able to dial the proper power into his swing.

GOODYEAR tire company has had Tiger Paws for 45 years. So golf will have the "Tiger" around for a long time!

This is a brillian PR move. This is just a thought, but I think it has legs.

Everyone thinks he's a bad guy so if he starts doing bad eventually people will start feeling bad for him and when he turns it around miraculously next year everyone will be so proud of him for fight through it and becoming good again. It's like an actor that has a drug addiction (exchange drugs with tail in tiger's case) goes to jail and comes back with an oscar winning performance.

Playing poorly in gold get you in the news. I hardly call it laying low. It's just possible he's burned out. He's had his time in the sun, so to speak. There will be younger and better golfers coming into the sport.
