The U.S. State Department on Thursday issued a travel warning for U.S. citizens living in or visiting Bolivia because of the massive protests in the country's southwest.
The travel alert says Bolivia is suffering "unstable social and security situations" in several regions.
Thank you CNN, for fact-checking this story. When you figure out the difference between a Travel Alert and a Travel Warning, I'll come back here for more travel news. (The U.S. State Department issued a Travel Alert, not a Travel Warning like this story stays. Travel Alerts are pretty common.)
Agreed (though I don't want to b as snarky). For those of us who work in international education a travel warning is way more serious than an alert. Please watch out for that in the future.
may you travel safely through bolivia on your river of tears john
Well do you want your news accurate or twisted to make it appear more interesting or newsworthy? I'm just saying.
Maybe the Staties should issue a Travel Warning for the U.S.A. as an alarming number of it's citizens carry firearms and don't hesitate to use them for the most trivial reasons... Walking down the street in any U.S. city is probably a hell of a lot more dangerous than anywhere in Bolivia!!
