Court blocks same-sex marriage in California

A federal appeals court in San Francisco has blocked same-sex marriage in California, until it hears broader questions over the constitutionality of such marriages. The brief order from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals set aside a federal judge's decision August 4 permitting same-sex marriages to resume.

According to the arbitrary rulings people of the same religion, political affiliation, and/or skin color can't marry either because the two individuals involved share similar attributes. These rulings to prevent gay marriage are from religious extremists. Religion cannot be involved in any government rulings. All politicians are in violation of the law when they use their religious beliefs to dictate how other people live.

You gay people want everyone to be tolerant of your points of view yet you can't seem to be tolerant of normal peoples point of view. And if you gay people want o quote from he Bible, quote his one. Leviticus 20:13 from King James Version : "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them."

I agree, rights are rights period, the right to marry, freedom of speech, bear arms and so on. If the peope feel a constutional change is in order to take away and or modify a right it should be by more than a simple majority, at the vary least a super majority !

Because the bigots are the religiously corrupt politicians.

I just find it ironic that people claim that the government has no right to say who people can marry yet they fully support the government when it is preventing people from marrying minors, multiple partners, animals and so on....

Keep in mind the precedent you are setting by trying to remove the governments authority in this arena.

So can a lesbian marry a gay man? It is a gay marriage, or isn't?

Animals don't no better but humans do. It is a ABOMINATION MAN WITH MAN, WOMAN WITH WOMAN
NIETHER shalt thou LIE with any beast to DEFILE thyself therewith: NEITHER shall any WOMAN stand before a BEAST to LIE down thereto: It is CONFUSION. DEFILE NOT YOU YOURSELF IN ANY OF THESE THINGS: FOR IN ALL THESE THE NATIONS ARE DEFILED WHICH I CAST OUT BEFORE YOU:

This kind of feels like civil rights 'Hokey Pokey' to me, all this back and forth.

I am straight and 100% in favour of marriage equality for all. I am also an atheist, and no, this does not mean that I am immoral. I was raised with Christian values and ideals, this includes tolerance and acceptance of all human beings. I don't look down on anyone for being religious, I deeply respect those who can have faith in something without proof. I do not, however, respect anyone who uses their faith as an excuse to be bigoted and discriminatory.

I digress, as this is not a discussion of religion. I just want to show my support for the LGBT community and marriage equality rights.

Wake me up when church and state are finally separated in this country. Why is it that this one law has people pulling their hair out? I never know what is what. One day its legal, the next day its not. This is utterly ridiculous. Since when do laws get changed at the drop of a hat because a few people are ignorant and get their torches and pitchforks together?
