Palin defends controversial talk show host in Facebook post

Sarah Palin defended Dr. Laura Schlessinger on Thursday, comparing her own critics to those who have called for the resignation of the embattled radio talk show host in the wake of Schlessinger's repeated use of the N-word during a broadcast.

Palin's defense of Schlessinger, which Palin posted on her Facebook page, is the second time the former Alaska governor has defended the talk show host. Palin came to Schlessinger's defense on Wednesday via Twitter, telling the radio host: "don't retreat...reload!"

Palin expounded on those thoughts in the Facebook post.

"Does anyone seriously believe that Dr. Laura Schlessinger is a racist?" Palin wrote. "Anyone, I mean, who isn't already accusing all conservatives, Republicans, Tea Party Americans, etc., etc., etc. of being racists?"

First Amendment rights are between you and the government. If you build a church without government interference, then your 1st Amendment rights have not been infringed upon. If you have a newspaper critical of the government and jackbooted thugs don't break your printers and drag you off to jail in the middle of the night, you are free to exercise your 1st Amendment rights. In Pinochet's CIA-supported Chile, left-wing dissenters disappeared, tortured and/or killed. In Putin's Russia, media bodies critical of the government are frequently shut down and/or jailed. That's what it means to live in a country without Freedom of Speech. When your sponsors decide not to fund your ideology, but the government doesn't get involved at all, that's free market capitalism.

    Welcome to America.

Sarah Palin shows the world an ugly American herself. How could anybody defend a Racist like Dr. Laura? Sarah Palin can because she is also a racist. She doesn't speak for the people of this country. She is only interested in herself and promoting herself. Dreadful behavior.

Palin seems to be putting a lot of effort into making sure that no Blacks, Muslims, or Latinos ever make the mistake of voting for a Republican ever again. I *really* hope she's at the top of the Republican ticket in 2012, can you picture her ever winning with statements like this in her record?

Sarah Palin has made race relationship worst in America since she came on the scene. Since she came on the national scene, she has divided the USA into a polarized nation of whites against all other ethnic groups. Everything that comes out of her ignorant mouth or writings has hatred, racism, violence, and lies that have made the USA a scary place to live!
She is not accountable to anyone which allows her say anything to the public in keeping this country divided. I wish very much that she would go back to Alaska. I beg that someone in the national media review her comments & statements since she has come on the national scene to confirm that she had made this country worst in race relationships!

Since when does the 1st Amendment protect your right to speak on all airwaves all the time? The 1st Amendment protects you from the government taking away your right to speech. It says nothing about forcing a private company to allow you speak. Also, didn't she resign (not get fired)?
