Release of U.S. hiker Sarah Shourd 'canceled,' Iran says

Iran's semi-official news agency ILNA reported Friday that the release
of American hiker Sarah Shourd has been "canceled," because legal procedures have not been completed.

Shourd, one of three American hikers held in Iran for more than a year,
was supposed to be released Saturday.

She, along with Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, were detained July 31, 2009,  after they allegedly strayed across an unmarked border into Iran while hiking  in Iraq's Kurdistan region.

OMG what a HUGE let down for her and her family. This makes me sick – something needs to be done. I will be praying for her and the other hikers.

What can we do? Invade iran over a couple of people who put themselves in harms way by hiking in Iraq aroudn the Iran border?

Really there is nothing that can be done except trying to convince Iran to release some good propaganda pieces for them. That way they dont need to use the tired and overused anti-semetic propaganda they usually get over in that country.

Hippy dippy kids now forced to suddenly grow up because of the peril they put themselves in. Yeah, Iran is using them to the max, but why in the hell did they act as if "no worries" while treading all over the middle east? What is wrong with their brain?

A memorial is planned at the site of the 9/11 aircraft crash in Penn. state. When the trees are grown it will look like an muslin cresent and it points toward mecca. Check the sky views.

In the world of Islam there are Believers and Infadels. The Believers can do whatever to non-believeing Infadels. Trickery, emotional turmoil it's all part of the game.

Judy, i love how when people, like you, comment pretending to know everything about a religion. Most of you neocons know of nothing but war and ruining this great country. We need to get out of these wars and punish the bankers who are getting away scott free with not even a slap on the wrist. Oh yeah, half of them are in government.

Send Clinton or Jimmy Carter over there. They would get the job done, unlike this joker who currently stays at the white house.

We don't have diplomatic relations with them. Same with North Korea. That's why we've been sending Clinton and Carter, because they're not in office. If you don't think the current president had anything to do with Bill Clinton going to North Korea, then you're pretty ignorant.

I agree! America cares more about collecting taxes and raising taxes. What they need to do is: break down and say were the stronger country so....release them or else! They tried doing this in the late 70's-early 80's and still the same today,,,were taken in dry up the rear-end!
