Pastor who planned 9/11 Quran burning arrives in NYC

The Rev. Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who has garnered worldwide attention for his plan earlier this week to burn Qurans on September 11, arrived in New York City late Friday night, according to footage provided by CNN affiliate WABC.

"I don't have anything to say right now," he told a group of reporters who followed him out of LaGuardia Airport and to a taxi cab.

K.A. Paul, an evangelist in contact with Jones, has said that there will be no burning of the book Saturday evening, as had been originally planned.

Jones has said he was scheduled to travel to New York City on Friday night for a still-unscheduled meeting with the imam in charge of the New York Islamic center planned near ground zero.

The planned meeting, Jones had said, helped persuade him to halt the planned burning.

A few Muslims (aside from the terrorists) died in 9/11–not many. The attack was carried out in the name of Islam by Muslim terrorists screaming "Praise to Allah" and was directed at Christian and Jewish Americans. I do believe the vast majority of American Muslims disapprove of the attack; but many, like the good Imam, make excuses for the terrorists or try to heap some of the blame on America. There simply is no possible excuse for that kind of terrorism.

  2. then what

I just want add one information to those who hate.....
burning quran is ok for muslims, It is out of respect to burn it if you are not using it and want to throw it in the trash.
also if you find a piece of paper that has Quran words in it, either clean it and keep it or burn it. but you dont throw in the trash. so the one who is burnig it is showing respect. and burning it shouldn't bother anyone at all.

If I were him I would be driving home. I could imagine a few Muslim crazies getting on his same flight home and blowing up the plane to smithereens. If any of you are flying, and are on his flight home, I would let the airliner know you're willing to take a voucher for a later flight!!! 🙂

Listen I am a muslim teen living in Canada...and this story has been blasting off for quite a while. You know, for me i think his direct action is the least of the problems....those who truly believe in islam have probable come to realize through countless examples that retaliation is not the answer. Now, looking at this situation I can see how this can be offensive. But you know if they feel its right I dont think we should waste our time muttering about because nothing is really going to be accomplished. We should consider the outcome in a mature manner, I preety sure that if they decide to burn 20,000 copies of the Quran there will always be one you can find. We are the 2nd largest religion in this world with 1.5 billion followers, and i think there still might be qurans available:) . A man with common knowledge would know that people would not follow the religion if it stands for violence....there wouldnt really be that much followers...and most people would be dead.....

Anways the quran says". "Tolerance is the ability to disagree in peace"

    Peace be with you 🙂

Althouegh this event is being promoted and operated of a Church, it is NOT my right to judge an entire religion, motion, expression, or belief merely because a few Christians decided to do something that some might considerd inappropriate. The Quran praises VIRGIN MARY, JESUS, MOSES, AND ABRAHAM, more than it praises Muhammed peace be upon them Im concluding that a true christrian wouldnt burn the book of which praises the very prophets that they truly believe in.

Most Christians and most Muslims would not desecrate each other's holy books. It's just not polite. But, Christians get less excited when it happens than Muslims. And, in America, anyone has the absolute right to make a statement by destroying a book that they own. Freedom of speech trumps religious sensibilities.

"Cordoba" is a pretty good second–named after the grand mosque built on the spot of a destroyed church to mark the Muslim conquest of Spain.

Has anyone, specially those who is sort of pro-rev. Terror Jones, realised that by burning Koran, that evil man will actually put all Christians on this planet to more threat of the Al-Qaeda's terrorists? Moslem in general and real life are ok people, they are just like us. Tell me honestly that you have never seen one Christian who kills or do harm to innocent, but would you hate all people who are Christian? You must be some kind of an narrow-minded person if you do.
