Mom charged with teaching 2-year-old to smoke pot

An Ohio mother has been accused of teaching her 2-year-old daughter to smoke marijuana after prosecutors said she e-mailed to friends a video of the child puffing on a joint.

Jessica Gamble is charged with child endangerment, evidence tampering and "corrupting another with drugs," according to an indictment returned by a grand jury in Cincinnati. The 21-year-old mother could face up to 11 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters told reporters that Gamble was indicted after someone to whom she sent the video reported it to authorities. The girl has been placed in the care of relatives "and is safe today," Julie Wilson, the chief assistant prosecutor for Hamilton County, told HLN's "Prime News" Thursday.

This is truly heartbreaking I still don't understand how people process these thoughts as "ok"

As someone who abused as a kid, terrorized by a "guadian," I wish there had been more broadcast about it. It's good its focused on as much as it is today. Wish I had had more alternatives growing up. Family members knew but did nothing.

It is also sad that it is on you-tube so that other idiots can think it's cool. Its child abuse and SHOULD NOT BE TELEVISED!

Joe Deters the prosecutor, or persecutor, as he's known in Ohio, should be removed from office.

Marijuana is NON-TOXIC you sad, misinformed, and gullible troll. That kid could have eaten a pound of the stuff and survived with no problem other than a stomach ache from all the roughage.

      Are you serious?
The mother is obviously a pot head whom is incapable of logical thought. she was probably high when she taught it to her daughter.
Pot heads dont reach for the stars. just the pantry.

How can it be dangerous when marijuana is non-toxic? The smoking of it might be a bit harmful, but then so is letting your kid use the playground at recess where all the vehicle exhaust can choke the kids without anyone complaining.
This is just a deliberate over-reaction that uses our unrealistic and unconstltutional laws to terrorize the population into thinking that marijuana is dangerous.
    Its not.

I am a military member, and i am in no away opposed to marijuana. but condoning your children to smoke anything, let alone a mind altering drug. (albeit not of great magnitude like LSD, but still) is a bad thing.

I just had a child, and i would never do anything to harm that child. especially teach it to smoke anything.
that kids brain is beyond important.
everyone knows 0-3 is the most crucial time for brain development. no one knows what THC can do to a brain that sensitive.
You sir should not encourage this act.
Of course pot should be legal, and is not as harmful as anyone says, but brains are sensitive at this age, and should not be subjected to any of these types of situations.
plus the smoke to a 2 year olds lungs is just asking for trouble. Asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, or even cancer.
      this mom should be shot.

This was a point blank idiotic move on the Mother's part, but not lethal to the child. The smoke can damage its lungs but nothing like cocaine or heroin use. Marijuana has been around for ages and you haven't found any ancient text stating that someone smoke the 'whatever they called it' plant and went crazy and/or died.

I wonder what the child thinks? Where is mommy? I want my mommy. No honey your mommy is a bad person, and she will endanger and harm you. Is it child abuse to separate the child from their parents? I wonder which is worse, for the child.

It's not healthy for anyone to smoke anything I'm sure we would all agree. Yet MD's prescribe smoking pot. I'm wondering at what age MD's think smoking pot is not beneficial. any Dr's care to reply?

I'm for legalization, BUT NOT AT 2. I happen to be well informed. Why not give the kid a pack of camels and a 12 pack.

Just tagging something as "legal" doesn't change it at all. Smoking anything is not good for you (duh) Irregardless of states making pot legal, it is still a federal crime. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to officially register themselves as a violator of fedral law and face feral prosecution. A large percentage of prison populations are made up of non-violent marijuanna offenders, so why on earth would anyone in their right mind want to register themselves? Oh, never mind. We are talking about people who are stoned. Of course they wouldn't be making sane judgements.
