There is medication for your condition!
You cover this story because it's a joke, but you pretend that no serious progressive rallies exist, and they do. You do not cover the progressive counter-protest planned for October 2, 2010
(see http://www.onenationworkingtogether.org/content/main)
I don't care if you're refusing to cover serious progressive rallies because you are in love with the TP, or because your narrative is that they are the only ones having protests, or because you are a for-profit corporation and that particular mob of idiots is useful to your bottom line. The effect is the same.
You didn't cover this, and you won't cover it until it's time to say it was poorly attended...
...just as you ensured that everybody in the country who wanted to knew how to get to Beck's glorified Klan rally, but that as few people as possible knew of Sharpton's counter-rally on the same day.
You acted as if Sharpton's counter-rally didn't even exist until it was time to crow about the fact that something that was advertised 24/7 on every channel got a larger turnout than something that was never mentioned by any "news" outlet. You did everything but outright lie, everything but actively claim that there were no counter protests, and your lie by omission was, and continues to be, an inexcusable betrayal of journalistic ethics and of your duty to the American people.
Communist China's erasure of contestation was never so seamless.
