Ahmadinejad blames capitalism for global woes

Attending a United Nations session on alleviating world poverty Tuesday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed capitalism for the world's woes.

"The demanding liberal capitalism and transnational corporations have caused the suffering of countless women, men and children in so many countries," Ahmadinejad said at a U.N. General Assembly session on the Millennium Development Goals.

"It is my firm belief that in the new millennium, we need to revert to the divine mindset, to our true nature for which man was created and, indeed, to the just and fair governance," he said.

Yeah people getting wealthy by the sweat of others who cant even get a decent check nor medical benefits for all the long hours of work that even keeps them from spending time with their family. Not to mention on how they have to feel force to work so many hours to barely afford rent. Youre the iranian president is no one to talk. But two wrongs dont make a right does it. Only people who benefit from capitalism could say that it works.

It's funny how you say only the people who benefit form capitalism says it works but the truth is a large majority of people who don't benefit at all still think that capitalism is the best way to run a country, talk about an idenity crisis.

R DANGER, Why does it not work for you? Are you in a bad situation because of the rich guy down the block? Is it him who ran up your credit cards or prevented you from doing a good job at work?

Can you point out anytime I've ever asked/called for something to be given away or stolen??
Why should the people continue to make a small part of the population filthy rich all the while either being stagnant in pay or are just going broke themselves?
Capitalism is a selfish rule since it only benefit the rich who just pass the money to the next in line to continue the monopoly!

You are saying that the wealthy should be forced to "share" their wealth at the point of an implied gun. If they don't comply with higher taxes the police will put them in jail. How is that fair? And how does that motivate YOU to work hard and be productive?
If someone "steals" their way to the" top" financially, they are not capitalists, they are thieves. In fact, that is the original purpose of our US Govt... to protect people from use of force (thieves) and allow for free trade. Unfortunately, the government have become the thief in the name of the "common good".

He may be one of the worst people to speak the truth considering what he has done to his own people, but, he is right about capitalism (at least the way it currently is). To me capitalism isn't unlike an invention. The first few times around doesn't make a finished product. You have to keep working on it. If we add some more fairness to the system and make it so people aren't being hung out to dry and taken advantage of (especially by the banking industry) then we wouldn't have to worry about stuff like class. There would be no lower or middle class there would be people earning a living and having the luxury to live there lives as well. I know, most likely a pipe dream. Because most people aren't nice enough or care enough to want there neighbors to succeed as well. They just want to get theres.

Add more "fairness" to capitalism? What exactly is that? By definition, a free market, free trade is fair because both parties agree to a price and exchange freely. Once government attempts to "add fairness" then you start to have problems because it's no longer "free trade". When you take away market forces you no longer have "fair and reasonable" trade.
Since the government acts without regard to market forces, they simply tax more to cover the spending. In NJ, Christie put his foot down when a multi billion dollar project was way over budget. Dems were astounded that Christie said "no, you're over budget".... that is what needs to change.

No doubt about it that compare to alot countries this is one of the best country to live because of democracy and freedom but u cant cover the sun with a finger and deny that capitalism affect alot of people in a very negative way. I doubt it very much that alot of people working in such places like walmart agree that capitalism work.

You do understand that propaganda didn't start with bush!!
Introduce a bill to a bunch of people who you just spent decades keeping stupid, people who couldn't read or write, but they were somehow supposed to know the that(100,000)dollars was set aside for land in liberia.
Then when blacks were able to read and write and found african government's who were offering money to black groups here in america,The feds step in (as usual with anything black)and label the activity terror related.(Eli jah, garvey, bpsn).
