Fourth lawsuit filed against Pastor Eddie Long

A fourth lawsuit has been filed against Atlanta-area Pastor Eddie Long,
alleging he coerced a 15 year-old into sex during a trip to Africa.

The man named in the new suit says he first met the pastor at his church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The improprieties continued after he moved to Atlanta at the behest of Long to attend a local university, he said.

A spokesman for Long denied the allegations. He has denied similar allegations of impropriety from 3 other men.

"Our position about the lawsuits has not changed. Bishop Long categorically deny the charges. We believe that it is unfortunate the young men have chosen to take this course of action. The defense team will review the complaints and respond accordingly at the appropriate time and in the appropriate forum," Art Franklin said.

As the saying goes, "innocent until proven guilty". These were 4 young men at the time who are all now in their 20's or so. Quick rich scam comes to mind OR is it the real thing? I don't think after all of these years just their saying 'it happened' is going to count for anything. If there is no evidence other than their word, the pastor will not be charged. If, however, the pastor had some identifying marks on his body where you could not see them and the boys could attest to that, then they have a case.

Have you seen the pictures he took of himself in the bathroom posing in extremely tight clothing that he sent to the kids? STRAIGHT MEN DO NOT DO THIS.

How can you claim to work with kids but never be ALONG with them? What is MUSH praying? Why don't you get an education before trying to engage in a conversation with grown-ups? And oh yeah, your keyboard appears to be broken, your CAPS-LOCK is stuck.

And the church and taxpayers who may have been supplementing this and the law which may have a few criminal words to say with the Bishop if true. If false, while don't agree with the Bishop's stand on gays, gay marriage, etc., I'd rather be standing next to him on judgment day than the false accusers.

Actually it's between Mr. Long and his alleged victims, as well as the Jurors that will hear the case. It may also in time be between Mr. Long and the criminal court system. If your son had been a victim, it's not likely you would simply say "It's between Mr. Long and God".

While I agree that this may be between Bishop and The Lord, but when the Bishop starts "laying hands in the name of the Lord", now it's between the Bishop, The Lord, and THE POLICE!!!!!

That comment unfortunetly makes for good "church rhetoric" but is clearly bad theology. If these victims were women, the church would think a lot differently.

Is it christian bashing to point out the hypocrisy of a religion that's supposed to teach love and hope and tolerance but instead generally teaches intolerance and hatred?
Because that's what I see coming out of the religious right and that's what I've generally seen over the past decade.

I can block out the fact that this man is a right-wing christian and I can accept the fact that he has (allegedly) taken advantage of young boys if you can accept the fact that it's downright hypocrisy for a man of faith to afflict abuse on young boys, however it occurred, if it did occur.

I'm just sick of people hiding behind any religion as an excuse or to pre-excuse themselves. I had a business owner knock on my door last week trying to sell me something and the first thing he said was 'I'm an active christian so you can trust me with your business."

REALLY? Being a christian certainly doesn't make you guilty of anything but it also certainly doesn't exclude you from being suspect in any way, shape or form.
Let's just agree that religion (particularly christianity here in the U.S.) isn't what it used to be and is downright abused at times for the benefit of people politically and financially.

In this country he is innocent until proven guilty. ALSO in this country I have a right to speak my opinion. And in my opinion he is guilty. Watch and see. As loud as a bullhorn he was against gay rights? He is trying to outshout his own inner voice that is screaming to him his own guilt on a daily basis.

Wow at first it seemed like the accusations were made up, but now a 4th person comes forward. it reminds me of the tiger woods scandal a little bit.
What strikes me even more than him being a "gay pedophile" (if proven guilty), is all the money he has. Are the people in atlanta really that stupid? 2 bentleys, private jets, black diamonds? i mean really. Why would anyone need black diamonds anyway?

Unfortunately I have attended both Earl Paulk's church, and New Birth with Eddie Long. This turns me off from the mega church. I liked the idea of the youth programs. Don't think I will be pushing my 17 yr. Old into the young mens programs anymore. Guilty or not, I am turned off. Two scandals too many!!!

All you have to do to determine if your Church is legit is look at the lifestyle of the Paster. Those with Jets, Limos, Jewels, multiple homes have found the goose that lays the golden egg. Give, Give, Give and God will save you and "I will have a "ball".

Dorian – That law is for our judicial system ! They must consider him innocent untill proven guilty. WE can have our own opinions and discussions – There is no law stating the general population must refrain from calling someone guilty until the courts prove him innocent.
