Fourth lawsuit filed against Pastor Eddie Long

A fourth lawsuit has been filed against Atlanta-area Pastor Eddie Long,
alleging he coerced a 15 year-old into sex during a trip to Africa.

The man named in the new suit says he first met the pastor at his church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The improprieties continued after he moved to Atlanta at the behest of Long to attend a local university, he said.

A spokesman for Long denied the allegations. He has denied similar allegations of impropriety from 3 other men.

"Our position about the lawsuits has not changed. Bishop Long categorically deny the charges. We believe that it is unfortunate the young men have chosen to take this course of action. The defense team will review the complaints and respond accordingly at the appropriate time and in the appropriate forum," Art Franklin said.

By defending your Bishop, you also as Christians, need to understand what these young are going through. Don't take sides, wait for evidences and let the court handle do the job. Phone records, emails, IMs and text messages will be available according to the lawyer. If Mr. Long is innoncent and has nothing to hide, he needs to take the stand and tell the truth. As Christians, we all need to tell the truth and not hiding behind lawyers. Do not attack the young men or Mr. Long. Let them face each other in the front of the judge. That's being Christian. We have to learn from the former pastor of Colorado who made his fellowers attacked ever gay person out there while he was going out with them.
    Let's wait and see.

Anybody saying that he is being accused unfairly with no evidence clearly hasn't seen the cellphone photos he sent to these young men. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

How would the young men have those pictures if Bishop Long didn't send the pics to them? And if he sent them those pictures, then what else is there to talk about? I'm all for innocent until proven guilty, but I'm having a VERY hard time imagining any other plausible reason for Bishop Long to send those photos to young men other than to proposition them.

It may have been consensual, I'll give Long that much benefit of the doubt, but if he really thinks he can say that all four of these young men are just making it all up....again, a picture is worth a thousand words.

  5. We are ONE Body!

Christians , We are One Body with many members. When one hurts we all hurt! The sad thing is that the kingdom of God is suffering for this blow all around the world. Guilty or not God is the real judge. The most concerning part is the hearts of man that are and will be hurt because of this horrible situation. I pray that people don't lose sight of God who is still on the throne. The reverance of God is diminishing in the church and across the board we all need to get back to our first love which is Christ. FIRST seek ye the kingdom...vanity can no longer be FIRST anymore!

God ain't "Still on the throne". He ain't no big ol' white haired man in the sky holding a stick to smack us when we do wrong. Open your eyes and know that you and I are the expressions of God. God shows up as you and me in THIS world. So, we make our own heaven and hell. Gotta think Bishop Long has created his own hell with his actions...and.... he created some hell for these young men (if these accusations are true). By coming forth, these young men are moving out of the hell Bishop Long has created. GOOD FOR THEM.

What you send out into the world comes back to you. Bishop Long created hell for these boys...he gets hell in return.

The ONLY time Jesus ever showed anger was when he went to the temple where the scribes, pharisees and money changers were. He cast them out and overturned their tables. DEPART FROM ME, ye workers of iniquity! Look like we have another "money changer" here.

Doc ... Jesus turned over the tables because they were cheating the people by telling them that their offering, i.e., lamb, was blemished and therefore could not be given to God forcing the people to buy their "perfect" offer.

As mentioned above by Mike, no straight male would send pics of himself to boys or men. That's odd behavior. Let's not forget what you do in secret will be brought to light. Every lie will be exposed in time.

Lets also not forget that his iPad and iPhone (which the photos were taken with) were stolen in June by one of the men that filed one of the lawsuits. The photos mean absolutely nothing.

Why do Blacks worship silly dressed, Elmer Gantry talking people who call themselves "Bishops"...Why not worship GOD, maker of the universe? Eddie Long is so rediculously over the top......isn't it apparent with all that "pastor's personal spending fund foolishness" This place should lose its tax exempt status.

Once upon time men and women in this country could face their accusers. We were innocent until proven guilty. I do not know this pastor. I know nothing other than the insinuations CNN has made. I'd love to see a good, balanced in depth story about the man, his church and where these allegations came from. These are desperate times. If these young men were molested by this man I feel so sorry for them, if they lied, they have to deal with that – they and their consciences. To the Christian crowd I say, "judge not, lest ye be judged". This man has a right to his day in court, I hope he's innocent. If he's not I hope he gets help because no one should abuse a position of authority. What this clearly demonstrates , in any case, is that the man should not have been alone with youngsters who were not his own children. There should have been supervision so that the opportunity for the accusation was impossible. If there's a lesson here it's that we need protect our nation's children simply by making sure there's enough involvement. Just a few adults can prevent a whole lot of harm.

Give me a break... Surely with all the crap in the news about stuff like this you've got to be able to formulate an opinion. It certainly seems like he fits the profile. So yeah, I am assuming he is guilty. Which doesn't effect his case one iota. And if he is found innocent then yes, I was wrong... Which again does not effect his case one iota... You seem to think that people spouting opinions on a website actually means something...
