Judge puts Lohan back behind bars

Lindsay Lohan arrives at the Beverly Hills courthouse Friday.

Lindsay Lohan was taken out of a Los Angeles courtroom in handcuffs after a judge ordered she be returned to jail until late next month.

The 24-year-old actress is scheduled to remain in jail until her probation violation hearing October 22.

Lohan served 13 days in jail and 23 days in rehab for a 2007 drunk driving conviction and was released on probation last month.

Her supervised probation required counseling, behavior therapy and random drug tests, and Lohan tweeted last week that she had "regrettably" failed her most recent drug test.

I dont think this is what she needs. I think her parents need to grow up and start working together to help Lindsay. I think it is hard for her because socializing and "being seen" is a major part of her career. Many times drugs are a part of that and it is difficult to say no. If her parents work together and get her on the road to help...maybe she will choose to avoid these environments. It is just as easy to get drugs in jail as it is on the streets!! She is young and makes mistakes like we all have. Anyone who laughs at someone else's misfortune should have all their misjudgements put in the public eye and when they are laughed at maybe they will grow up and have some compassion and respect.

Personality or talent aside. It is a waste of taxpayer money to put this troubled woman in jail. Her behavior is self destructive. She is not a danger to the public. She can chose to get treatment for herself or wither and die. Putting her in jail does not benefit anyone but the tabloids. Jails are expensive and overcrowded and should be used for the incarceration and punishment of people who are a danger or cause harm to others. Treatment is for the self destructive or mentally dependent. Fines and lost opportunities in her career are adequate punishment for cases like Lindsey Lohan.

Tina. Her parents are just like her. They like to party!
What are you? Is it stupity or are you a naive conservative who believes everyone has a family consisting of members who work together to solve each other's problems. Believe it or not, Paris Hilton has that type of family. With grandpa Hilton maintaining this stability.
If Lindsey Lohan is to get help it will be through the court system and by her learning to establish a constructive routine that replaces the time spent in state of destructive partying.
Her career will be over if she doesn't because right now she is uninsurable.
