Judge sets bail for Lindsay Lohan at $300,000

A California judge has set bail for actress Lindsey Lohan at $300,00, a few hours after another judge ordered her into jail for failing a court-ordered drug test, a Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman said.

Earlier Friday, Judge Elden Fox ordered Lohan jailed for four weeks without bail while she awaited a probation revocation hearing scheduled for October 22.

Lohan was led out of Fox's courtroom in handcuffs.

In response to a writ of habeas corpus filed on Lohan's behalf, Judge Patricia Schnegg set bail at $300,000, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said.

Lohan must wear an alcohol-detection device after bail is posted, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said.

Too bad they let her out because being in jail would definitely deprive her of her much needed cocaine and booze! The courts are enabling her now! I agree that she will be dead soon (River Phoenix). She will collapse one night outside the Viper Room in LA! Like the special forces say...."Kill 'em all.....Let God sort 'em out!!

I feel sorry for the girl. She has no one demanding she take responsibility for her actions. Both her parents leave a lot to be desired, I think they view her as a paycheck. She is an out of control drug addict, and releasing her from jail is no favor. I hope someone who really has her best interest in heart can step in before it's too late.

I agree, but she needs mandatory drug rehab, not jail. She's just a kid who had 15+++ minutes of fame and it's up. She can't even act and is not that attractive.

She said herself she is taking responsibility and changing her ways. Just another lying, coke addict...WHO KNEW?!

RIDICULOUS!!!! No one will be happy until this loser kills someone!!! She obviously has serious problems!!!! 30 days is the LEAST she should be accountable for. Hopefully it won't be the judge's family she mows down next!!!!!

When this girl kllls some one by running over them or into them.. 'THEN' will she get the jail time she deserves?
I heard she actually hit a baby carriage in one of her escapades...Who is worth more? A rich celebrity or a baby?

I guess it's going to take her mowing down a family with her car before she does any time ... but these IDIOT judges will just let back out. Justice is dead, for all of us.

Some people just can't be helped, mostly because they don't want help.she is destined for self destruction. Just a matter of time.

It's not "herself" others are worried about anymore..It's the people she could have harmed or could harm as she arrogantly sneers at the law..The rules that are supposed to be for "all" of us..Which obviously are not for rich celebrities..
It's a sad reality..It seems it would be an "honor" to be ran down by Ms Lohan..Otherwise why does she keep getting out to be allowed to try it again..?

Actually, studies have shown that forced rehab can be of benefit in assisting an addict into much so that several states now have methods for forcing a family member into rehab without their consent....but in the end, it is up to her..she can detox and be clean for short periods of time, but unless she chooses to stay clean, she will go back again and again..the addiction is as much if not more a psychogical one than a physical one. She needs counseling, a prevention plan and to be forced to remain in rehab at least 3 months. Her health and the safety of those around her demand it..why aren't the judges listening?

It figures, money talks and you all know what walks. This is a classic case of celebrity privilege. Get used to it cause it ain't going anywhere. This girl will not learn until someone dies.

Point taken. She can't act so she acts out. Her way of continuing her 15 mins of fame. Just a waste. People always talk about keeping the bad folks away from her, but I'm pretty sure she makes the decision to partake in the drug/self destructive behavior.

This is yet another example of a young so called star with millions of dollars and no parental guidance. it makes me sick to my stomach how one judge throws her in jail and another lets her out on bail. there is no justice for the common citizen but drug abusers probation violators and wife beaters (superstars you know who u are) get to skate. disgraceful what the land of the free the home of the brave is coming to.

I totally agree with Mary. Just like Paris HIlton and other celebrities who abuse their celebrity status, it is time to boycott advertisers who use them in marketing, boycott TV series and movies where they appear, do not support their line of clothing and perfumes and other cheap products. It is high time to shun these individuals and bring back the concept of SHAME - a scarlet letter branded on them.

How silly! If ANYONE besides a person of means and fame were to be in her shoes, there is NO WAY that bail would be granted.
