Judge sets bail for Lindsay Lohan at $300,000

A California judge has set bail for actress Lindsey Lohan at $300,00, a few hours after another judge ordered her into jail for failing a court-ordered drug test, a Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman said.

Earlier Friday, Judge Elden Fox ordered Lohan jailed for four weeks without bail while she awaited a probation revocation hearing scheduled for October 22.

Lohan was led out of Fox's courtroom in handcuffs.

In response to a writ of habeas corpus filed on Lohan's behalf, Judge Patricia Schnegg set bail at $300,000, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said.

Lohan must wear an alcohol-detection device after bail is posted, Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini said.

Another slap on the wrist for this COW! Come on. Where is there any justice in this country. If she were just an ordinary citizen she'd be sitting in a crowded jail. It is high time that we enforce a SINGLE standard of justice on all Americans instead of this BS.

Oh BTW, anyone see No'Bamas latest poll ratings. He's closing on George very quickly, dumbocraps don't even want him in their state. That is just too funny.

This happens all the time in California. Has nothing to do w/her celebrity. Jails are way over populated. They need to save room for real criminals.

    • Really?

She IS a real criminal! One of her DUI arrests involved her trying to run down her former assistant with her car...I think attempted murder qualifies her to be a REAL criminal!

  7. Really?

This is really unbelieveably sad – how celebrities are TOTALLY above the law!

Numbaoneballa – I have never in my life made a comment anything like the following EVER to ANYONE, but you deserve it: I truly hope that a drunk driver kills someone who is totally dear to you. Then we'll see if you are still ready to defend DUI offenders. You really don't have a clue what you're talking about – do a search and see exactly what all Lindsey has done. Getting 2 DUI arrests within a month is only the tip of the iceberg. There is no defending someone as ridiculous as Lindsey...who obviously has no concern for ANYONE but HERSELF!

So the counrts have joined Lohan's entourage of professional enablers by insuring that she never has to pay the full legal consequences for her behavior. A sentence of 90 days in jail is reduced to 13, a 90-day rehab stint is shortened to 23 days, and now a 29-day sentence is reduced to just a few hours. She thumbs her cocaine-stuffed nose at the courts over and over and over again, and skates by because she's white and famous and wealthy. None of the rest of us would get by with her repeated violations of the law and probation. We'd be rotting in a cell somewhere. Well, when the girl finally OD's, the judges can wash their hands like Pontius Pilate and pretend they had nothing to do with it, but they had EVERYTHING to do with it by releasing her time and time again to go right back to the life and her inner circle of junkies and enablers.

If there was any doubt about the celebrity double standards....the doubt is gone now. This other judge has finally said what we all knew....if you have money you don't have to follow the same laws as everyone else. This broad needs to get slapped hard and tossed in a cell. I am so disgusted that I am boycotting ALL "celebrities" that have been hit with drugs and alcohol issues..they are common criminals and don't deserve a damn thing from us as a society.

She was supposed to return home for Family Support– Evidently she is Under Court order to stay in LA until she completes probation.

So she’s 3000 miles from her family, with anxiety and dependency sickness, and was not kept in the Rehab clinic for the time required!? Currently her only support is her LA "friends"

It defies common sense- unless the goal is the continued support of the Tabloid industry.

She should be in jail,no ands ifs or buts. The law is a big fat joke,no wonder she goes around mocking them and giving them the finger.Maybe if these judges lost a family member to someone on drugs or alcohol it would be a different story. What a shame that they as judges are not serious about enforcing the law.

First CNN fix your typo. Second, seriously, if she were anyone else she'd be in jail no excuses. This is a gross example of the corruption of our justice system.
