UFOs eyed nukes, ex-Air Force personnel say
Seven former U.S. Air Force personnel gathered in Washington Monday to recount UFO sightings over nuclear weapons facilities in decades past – accounts that a UFO researcher says show extraterrestrial beings are interested in the world’s nuclear arms race and may be sending humans a message.
At a news conference at the National Press Club, the six former officers and one ex-enlisted man recalled either personal sightings or reports from subordinates and others of UFOs hovering over nuclear missile silos or nuclear weapons storage areas in the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
Three of the former Air Force officers – though they hadn’t seen the UFOs themselves - told reporters that UFOs hovering over silos around Montana’s Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967 appeared to have temporarily deactivated some of the nuclear missiles.
Much of the testimony already has appeared in books, websites and elsewhere. But UFO researcher and author Robert Hastings, who organized the news conference, said the time has come for the U.S. government to acknowledge the UFO visits.
“I believe - these gentlemen believe - that this planet is being visited by beings from another world, who for whatever reason have taken an interest in the nuclear arms race which began at the end of World War II,” said Hastings, who added that more than 120 former military personnel have told him about UFOs visiting nuclear sites.
“Regarding the missile shutdown incidents, my opinion … is that whoever are aboard these craft are sending a signal to both Washington and Moscow, among others, that we are playing with fire – that the possession and threatened use of nuclear weapons potentially threatens the human race and the integrity of the planetary environment,” he said.
Former Air Force Capt. Robert Salas – who has written a book about the Montana incidents – said he was underground when a UFO hovered over his missile silo in March 1967, and therefore couldn’t see it. He said one of his guards above ground told him a red, glowing object about 30 feet in diameter was hovering just above the front gate of the facility, in an isolated area far from Malmstrom.
“And just as I [called my commander], our missiles began going into what’s called a no-go condition, or unlaunchable. Essentially, they were disabled while this object was still hovering over out site,” Salas said.
Salas and others said the military urged them at the time not to talk about the incidents.
Retired Col. Charles Halt recalled seeing UFOs over the woods near Royal Air Force Stations Bentwaters and Woodbridge in eastern England in December 1980. He and security personnel were investigating reports of strange lights just outside one of the bases.
“All through the forest was a bright glowing object,” he said Monday. “The best way I can describe it, it looked like an eye – with bright red, with a dark center. It appeared to be winking. It was shedding something like molten metal, was dripping off it.
“It silently moved through the trees, avoiding any contact, it bobbed up and down, and at one point it actually approached us. We tried to get closer. It receded out into the field, beyond the forest, and silently exploded into five white objects – gone. So we went out into the field looking for any evidence, because something had been apparently falling off it – and we find nothing,” he said.
He recalled subsequently seeing other objects in the sky, including one that stopped about 3,000 feet overhead and “sent down a concentrated beam at our feet.” No one was harmed.
“The best way I can equate it is sort of a laser beam. We stood there in awe. Was this a warning? Was this an attempt to communicate? Was this a weapon? Or just a probe?” he said.
At about the same time, he was hearing radio reports from base personnel that beams from some of the objects were “falling into or near the weapons storage area.”
In a staff meeting later, a general decided “it happened off base, so it’s a British affair,” Halt recalled. “In other words, they were loathe to get involved.”
The Air Force investigated UFOs from 1948 to 1969 under a program eventually called Project Blue Book. The service, on its website, says the project concluded that “no UFO reported, investigated, and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security.” It also says there has been "no evidence that sightings categorized as 'unidentified' are extraterrestrial vehicles."
Salas said the UFO phenomenon “is real, not imaginary.”
“There is current excessive secrecy in our government surrounding this phenomenon,” he said.
A reporter asked how many of the former military personnel subscribed to Hastings’ theory that the message of extraterrestrials is that humans should get rid of nuclear weapons, and how many of them believed that we should get rid of nukes. Of the seven, it appeared that only Salas raised his hand.

Has anyone noticed the correlation between every time someone tests a nuclear weapon, UFO activity increases over that area. Examples: new mexico tested weapons in the 40's,chernobyl...
These UFOs and ETs are nothing but future human beings from say the year 2500. They have special agents that travel back in time (because in 500 years or so we should have solved the time travel problem) and check up on us. They are trying to make sure that we stay on a certain course that may save humanity one day. If we start to veer off this course, they will reveal themselves and let us know that we are heading for destruction. Which I guess means that we should be hearing from them any day now. IMHO.

Security videos do seem likely. But men violating a legal confidentiality agreement to defy their orders and come forth to talk about what the were aware that others saw decades later is different than them stealing videos at the time of the incident. The government has videos. Why would these former military officers have access to them? If they purchase books and burn them to keep a few paragraphs classified after changing thier mind on something they already approved, why would they release videos?
they try to hide these things because we are a god fearing religous people and the fact that something else out there exists would throw the basis of a lotta peoples lives of course. if they been doin the right thing for nothing all this time, what would the reprecussions be? uprisings? anarchy? that is why they dnt tell us anything, cuz we cant handle the truth as a society. ask mexico's govt if they exist...
Jakeman, up until recently that was the mentality. Just recently the religious community, at least the Roman Catholic anyways, has succeeded in the possibility that life exists elswhere, but still does not disprove the existance of God. Which is ok with me, as long as the facts are straight, and they're not going to go apecrap if provided evidence, then I say proceed with the unravelling of said evidence.
It doesn't make sense that they would all be from our own future. Maybe some, like the reported UFO around the Twin Towers on 9/11. Or the reported UFOs during our first Apollo landings on the moon ... Just darn tourists ...
But, the rest, are most likely Aliens. Not from Mexico mindyou, but from the rest of a restless Universe. I think the military and our Government have done the right thing to keep this secret, for as long as possible. We need time to find out about them and their technology. Sooner or later we may have to fight them for our survival. Look at it this way, why would they come here unless they had an agenda? And why are we so quick to think that they are benevolent?
Most likely, there are many different Aliens, with different backgrounds and history. I would hope that our military has made alliances with the right ones. Like a Galactic NATO. So, if some of the Aliens coming here are bad dudes, I would hope that we would know by now how to destroy THEIR planet and civilization. Hey, this scary stuff, I have kids. The reason I believe they are benevolent is because if they weren't, they would have destroyed us by now. If they had a detrimental purpose in mind, the only one I could think of would be that they wanted our resources (food, water, habitable atmosphere). If that were the case, it would be easy for them to move us out of the way. Instead, you have these stories of their playing games with our nuclear equipment. If they wanted to kill us, wouldn't it make more sense to just outright destroy the weapons, then us?
I believe that we are far more dangerous to ourselves than these aliens are to us.

Maybe the reason that they have not destroyed us by now is because we're not dangerous enough, yet. We would need appropriate weapons and intelligence to be militarily a problem for the. In other words, they can wait and see what happens with us. They can keep collecting intelligence on us. Which is what they were doing while hovering over our weapons. Which is what they do when they abduct and supposedly do experiments with us.
Our next step in our evolution is to move out in the Cosmos. I would hope that we would be part of the "right" group as we venture out there. As for what the agenda may be for ETs, it is not up to us to know. We can hope that they're all friendly, but I doubt it.
One day everyone will be very surprised at the truth of all of this...that there are other civilizations...we are part of a bigger universe, etc.

They do exist, and their purpose is to create exactly what is occurring on this blog... thousands of questions AND different opinions on extra terrestrials, their purpose, where they come from, etc...
Satan is the prince of the air, and he controls all of the 2nd heaven (outer space). He is doing all that he can to work the human imagination into thinking that there are aliens, and their purpose is to "pick any of the hundred opinions above". Also, when the church is raptured, many will believe it was a massive alien abduction, as that is what Satan wants you to believe (just one reason he and his fallen angels are appearing in their "spacecraft".)
Let me tell you something I know. These beings do exist (they're fallen angels), but they will never "make contact" with us... they will never show themselves to the world as to where a global "Aliens are official" make the headlines. These sightings will continue as they always have up until Christ's return.
Again, their purpose is to create exactly the mass confusion in non-believers and hopefully to prevent potential believers from accepting Christ. If you accept Christ, you have the answer. If you don't, continue to wonder and ask like so many above.

How many "centuries"? Are you aware that the U.S. federal government has only been around 2.21 centuries? You really think they've been covering up UFO/ET sightings since our country first became legit?
My dad, who is a no-BS kind of guy, worked evening shift at a defense contractor plant in Texas for 40+ years, and on a lunch break at the time in the 1980's, said he had seen a glowing bright red-orange orb that "floated" in the distance, "hovered" and moved silently. It "pulsated", then suddenly sped across the dusk sky and in an instant was gone. Given the infinite expanse of space, it is not at all implausible that we are not alone in the universe. The mathematical relationship of 1 in infinity is the same as 2 in infinity, or any other ratio expressed as any number divided by infinity. As far as what "they" were or were not try to tell us, if anything, is left to speculation, in my opinion.
I wonder if we could get the ufo's to fix our economy?
We elected Obama to learn how far fetched and distructive the liberal agenda is (although I like him as a speaker). The election in November and following presidential election will help elect a conservative from a shaken up, more real Republican party to improve our economy and stop packaging pet projects and payoffs as some kind of "stimulus". Some democraps are coming to their senses and are going to throw out Nancy Pelosi as thier leader. Alien guidance in all of that, doesn't seem likely. Hopefully it is the wisdom of our system of government and collective wisdom of legal americans. Neither set of political leaders has been effective in Iran or Korea. The Republican party needs to be shaken up, it wouldn't have happenned unless we'd seen the failure of the last two years, including Bush's failures near term end.

I would like to see physical proof of what they are saying. Surely there must be cameras around these nuclear facilities. And if they are around the nuclear facilities, than surely other people in the area have seen them. There are too many hoaxers out there making up things. It comes down to this, either put up or shut up. We need to see physical proof.

So they are covering up the aliens from us. Hmmmm, if that was the case wouldn't they cover this story up too? I don't believe this story but I also don't believe that the government is hiding all of this from us.
There probably are other beings in other galaxies or planets but they're probably like us and can't travel millions or billions of lightyears.
The moral of the story is...stop watching TV you nut jobs and for the love of God don't watch The Event or we will have news stories about people claiming they're traveling through time.

If they're real, admit it, if not.. then I'll stop looking up at the night sky and wasting my time writing into articles like this. I'm a learner, and if they're there, I want to learn from them if they don't kill me.
