UFOs eyed nukes, ex-Air Force personnel say
Seven former U.S. Air Force personnel gathered in Washington Monday to recount UFO sightings over nuclear weapons facilities in decades past – accounts that a UFO researcher says show extraterrestrial beings are interested in the world’s nuclear arms race and may be sending humans a message.
At a news conference at the National Press Club, the six former officers and one ex-enlisted man recalled either personal sightings or reports from subordinates and others of UFOs hovering over nuclear missile silos or nuclear weapons storage areas in the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
Three of the former Air Force officers – though they hadn’t seen the UFOs themselves - told reporters that UFOs hovering over silos around Montana’s Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1967 appeared to have temporarily deactivated some of the nuclear missiles.
Much of the testimony already has appeared in books, websites and elsewhere. But UFO researcher and author Robert Hastings, who organized the news conference, said the time has come for the U.S. government to acknowledge the UFO visits.
“I believe - these gentlemen believe - that this planet is being visited by beings from another world, who for whatever reason have taken an interest in the nuclear arms race which began at the end of World War II,” said Hastings, who added that more than 120 former military personnel have told him about UFOs visiting nuclear sites.
“Regarding the missile shutdown incidents, my opinion … is that whoever are aboard these craft are sending a signal to both Washington and Moscow, among others, that we are playing with fire – that the possession and threatened use of nuclear weapons potentially threatens the human race and the integrity of the planetary environment,” he said.
Former Air Force Capt. Robert Salas – who has written a book about the Montana incidents – said he was underground when a UFO hovered over his missile silo in March 1967, and therefore couldn’t see it. He said one of his guards above ground told him a red, glowing object about 30 feet in diameter was hovering just above the front gate of the facility, in an isolated area far from Malmstrom.
“And just as I [called my commander], our missiles began going into what’s called a no-go condition, or unlaunchable. Essentially, they were disabled while this object was still hovering over out site,” Salas said.
Salas and others said the military urged them at the time not to talk about the incidents.
Retired Col. Charles Halt recalled seeing UFOs over the woods near Royal Air Force Stations Bentwaters and Woodbridge in eastern England in December 1980. He and security personnel were investigating reports of strange lights just outside one of the bases.
“All through the forest was a bright glowing object,” he said Monday. “The best way I can describe it, it looked like an eye – with bright red, with a dark center. It appeared to be winking. It was shedding something like molten metal, was dripping off it.
“It silently moved through the trees, avoiding any contact, it bobbed up and down, and at one point it actually approached us. We tried to get closer. It receded out into the field, beyond the forest, and silently exploded into five white objects – gone. So we went out into the field looking for any evidence, because something had been apparently falling off it – and we find nothing,” he said.
He recalled subsequently seeing other objects in the sky, including one that stopped about 3,000 feet overhead and “sent down a concentrated beam at our feet.” No one was harmed.
“The best way I can equate it is sort of a laser beam. We stood there in awe. Was this a warning? Was this an attempt to communicate? Was this a weapon? Or just a probe?” he said.
At about the same time, he was hearing radio reports from base personnel that beams from some of the objects were “falling into or near the weapons storage area.”
In a staff meeting later, a general decided “it happened off base, so it’s a British affair,” Halt recalled. “In other words, they were loathe to get involved.”
The Air Force investigated UFOs from 1948 to 1969 under a program eventually called Project Blue Book. The service, on its website, says the project concluded that “no UFO reported, investigated, and evaluated by the Air Force has ever given any indication of threat to our national security.” It also says there has been "no evidence that sightings categorized as 'unidentified' are extraterrestrial vehicles."
Salas said the UFO phenomenon “is real, not imaginary.”
“There is current excessive secrecy in our government surrounding this phenomenon,” he said.
A reporter asked how many of the former military personnel subscribed to Hastings’ theory that the message of extraterrestrials is that humans should get rid of nuclear weapons, and how many of them believed that we should get rid of nukes. Of the seven, it appeared that only Salas raised his hand.

This is only a thought, But we do not know the reasons these beings are here for, We can only guess. Here is my guess. First if they from another planet, which could be possible. Unless there is something they want here or maybe they put us here, and are just watching over us, which to me would be the only reason, for anyone to be looking out for us, like a parent or guardian does. I feel if they were from another planet, and had nothing to worry about here, I can't see them worrying about what we would be doing here, and probably would not care if we blew our selves up. My other guess is that, They might already be here and have been here living among us for a very long time, and moved under ground, knowing that it is safer to live under a planet, instead of on top, to avoid meteors, solar storms and so on. Then we set our first atomic bomb off, which even they would of felt from below. This guess makes more sense to me, for the reason why they disarm our nukes, because it would not only be us it will affect, but also them as well, by making there home underground unstable too. Like I said, its only a guess, but I would be more inclined to believe guess 2, for the reason why they are trying to stop these nukes from going off. Any way take care people, and I am sure we will find out within the next 2 years, That is only a guess too, it could be a lot sooner. P.S just keep remembering that everything is always about money too, so it could also be a way to generate money, making people believe in all this stuff, and are making a big movie for all to see, and making big bucks along the way.

The "God" in the Bible just refer to a group of beings with high technology that made them appear as god to primitive people. They are really out there. I used to deliver mail, and in 1996 in Flint, Michigan, one flew over my head about a mile long.
It was really early in the morning. I for sure believe the UFO could deactivate missles. This thing was so huge, and flying so low. I was driving my deliverly van and noticed a shadow behind me and looked up. I rolled down the window and it made a very light hissing/sucking sound as it slowly floated over me. I remember it kind of taking away my memory for while and I felt kind of lethargic, and groggy. I rolled down my window and looked up and seen some dim lights.
I tell people this and they say I'm a mental case, I say that is quite alright.

Yesterday on the 13th of october i saw this oval like shape fly over me. before this happen though i walking home down the street when a white glowing objct floating across the sky cought my eye. it was pretty scary becuase a week eairler i too saw a red glowing object in the sky and i had gone into a trance kind of just staring at this object. it wasnt a plane becuase it moved to its left and went behind trees and then came bakc to its right and kept going while 3 little dots were flying around it. but what i saw yesterday was astonishing to me becuase iv never had a UFO fly that close to me before. i looked streight up and it was like i could see the bottem. i told people about and people too say that i didnt see anything. I read your post and thought id share this with you becuase of the trance i was in when staring at this object. Im over in kirkland,WA and i see UFOs alot.
The Alien Greys probably live under ground in the caverns, hell they probably control and facilitate the weather and biological aspects of the ecosystem of earth. We are the only planet with water and oxygen, i think maybe there are other worlds underground that play a role for the surface.

Gday Sam, What you say sounds very interesting to me, Only because I had one of those very real dreams, as if I was really in the dream it self, and still today am wondering if it was a dream or not, because of the detail of it, like being able to touch, smell, taste, and even fully aware of everything I was doing, And there was no time lapses, like most dreams how they skip from one thing to another. It was as if it was in real Space/time. Within this dream, I got to meet these being that looked very similar to us, with blonde hair and blue eyes, I only mention that because I thought it was a bit weird they all like that, And when I say all, I mean 3 of them, They took me into there craft, and too another planet, that looked very similar to ours, When I tried to release my self from the dream, I found that I was stuck, This is why I call it a dream, Only because I was aware of trying to wake myself up. Back in 1952, my husband and I were headed back to Tampa, Florida on Labor Day. My mother had cousins over for the holiday. After dinner, she washed the dishes and then took the dish towels out to hang on the clothesline. It was a cloudy day and she looked up to see if it may rain. She said there were puffy white clouds and inbetween the bright blue sky...then she saw what looked like a saucer shape. At first she thought it was the moon, but no, it was definitely shaped saucerlike. Our cousins and neighbors came out to see what she was looking at. It was staying still, and then out of the right side came rays of red, blue lights and it moved slowly over to the left under the clouds.
We made it home the next day and I asked if she had reported it. She said emphatically, "NO!", and it was mainly because there were so many reports and people were said to be crazy!
It was also in that year that our governor was being flown somewhere and the pilot and governor saw a ufo flying beside then and then it disappeared.

I hate how people don't understand the concept of optics on consumer cameras/video-cameras. For everyone who drops ignorant comments like "too bad they don't show up now that there are good cameras around", please stop commenting on something you have no understanding of. When a professional video camera operator with an $90,000 ENG/EFG HD videocamera is outside with a 30lbs of optics on his/her shoulder and a UFO shows up, you'll get a clear video. Until then, shaky hands, 100x digital zoom, and a $300 videocamera from Wal-Mart isn't going to give you clear HD video like you want. Please think before you comment.
Well there are a few good photos and films out there, but alot are fakes, you just have to decide if a policemen or someone of impecable reputation took the photo, and is not after publicity, then theres more likely some substance to the episode. (like the 4 St Louis Policemens UFO eye witness accounts, or the Hudson river accounts in 1984)
And for the folks who ask, did you pull out your camera? as its like a guys approaching you who you've not met before, pulls out a gun and shoots at you,, -and the police say,, did you take out your camera and take his photo, and did the bullet show up in the film?? hell no.. but it happened, there's just no film evidence..
