Suspected University of Texas-Austin gunman dead

A suspected gunman fired shots inside a library at the University of Texas at Austin on Tuesday morning before shooting himself, university spokeswoman Rhonda Weldon told CNN.

The gunman died, Weldon said. No one else was hurt.

On its Facebook page, the university police said they were searching for a possible second suspect.

Weldon said it was not known whether that second suspect was armed.

Students and others on campus were advised to remain indoors with their doors locked.

Criminals have a government guarantee their victims will be unarmed on campus. The law only stops law abiding citizens, not criminals, from having guns on campus. Legally this guy was not supposed to have a gun on campus. Yet he had one anyway. People who have a concealed handgun license in Texas legally cannot take their guns on campus, guess what, they don't b/c they're law abiding citizens. So the law only keeps the good guys from having guns on campus. Thanks politicians for things worse for us.

the shooter was already dead - CNN doesnt like to cover stories that do not cause you fear
If they cant make you afraid of something – the news media does not really care about it

irnoically Texas is currently debating whether or not concealed handguns being allowed on campus. Curious as to how this unfortunate event will impact the debate.

It's the same old storie. What's happening in the US educational system? Who wants to kill thought? Maybe the name of the storie could be: "From bully behaviour in the schoolyard to undiscriminating shooting in the University".

Do you know for sure it was because of bullying?

I know! I read it on Facebook and when I ran here for details I was shocked to not find anything on the story. One of my very best friends goes to UT so it was an extremely big deal to me. I couldn't get a text back from her either so of course that was extra scary. So glad no one but the gunman was killed. What a shame.

Apparently Austin isnt that important, but yet there is breaking news about a landslide in Mexico. CNN whats wrong with you? I found this story on MSNBC before I found it on here.

Maybe because one suicidal individual isn't as important as 1000 trapped in a landslide? Like it said he's dead and it doesn't look like there's a second gunman.

Why the heck do you idiots have to even bring up the story about Mexico's landslides on here, go to that news link to talk about it, this is what we want to talk about on this link!
