Breitbart: O'Keefe owes supporters an explanation

Andrew Breitbart has supported James O'Keefe in the past.

Conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart says activist James O'Keefe owes his supporters an explanation for his failed attempt to "punk" a CNN correspondent.

Breitbart helped catapult O'Keefe's conservative agenda into the public eye by posting O'Keefe's series of undercover videos inside ACORN offices on his website, BigGovernment.com. O'Keefe has also contributed columns to BigGovernment.com, one of six websites run by the influential conservative.

But now, Breitbart is rebuking the man once regarded as his "protege" for the now-infamous "boating incident" targeting CNN correspondent Abbie Boudreau. Hidden cameras were supposed to capture O'Keefe attempting to seduce her, but the plot fizzled when an assistant to O'Keefe told Boudreau and she refused to board the boat.

Breitbart, who appears in CNN's upcoming documentary about the young conservative activist movement, "Right on the Edge," provided CNN with this comment regarding O'Keefe's attempt to lure Boudreau onto a floating "palace of pleasure."

"I proudly stood behind James O'Keefe on his groundbreaking ACORN investigation. I also defended him when the media, including CNN - during a previous regime, "the Rick Sanchez era" -  falsely reported the Sen. Mary Landrieu story as a "wiretapping" plot gone wrong.

In all these cases the left-leaning media exposed its obvious bias against James because of his contrarian point of view and because the targets of his investigations are protected institutions of the Democrat Media Complex.

However, in my dealings with Ms. Boudreau, she and her producer, Scott Zamost, conducted themselves professionally, and I believe James owes them a candid and public explanation.

From what I've read about this script, though not executed, it is patently gross and offensive. It's not his detractors to whom he also owes this public airing. It's to his legion of supporters."

Economic times are really tough right now. Can we all agree on that? When people are worried about money, and whether they will have enough to pay the mortgage and feed their children, they are very susceptible to scare tactics such as those used by O"Keefe, Breitbart and any other right wing conservative out there. The far right have always been experts at exploiting the fears of the American people. Look at the stink that they have made about the Islamic Cultural Center (not a mosque) near (NOT AT) Ground Zero. They are playing on the fears of the American people, just like Breitbart and Fox News did with the Sherrod tapes, employing careful editing. That's what got ACORN killed...careful videotape editing playing on the fears of the American people.

If they did kill Acorn, wasn't it just another hit on the poor, the dismantling of an organization they feared could do a party good?

Or without the Lilly Ledbetter bill. I think it is an on going proccess. If we were to get rid of our prejudices, we could really put our minds to fixing Katrinas wrath, economy woes, and stop warring with countries. All tall orders for some.

    Dear CNN,

Please get rid of your comments section.

This is on the internet, and because of this the biggest and loudest idiots, with alot of time on their hands, are always the ones to ruin any actual discussion.

Make a forum for all the people that want to be racist and call eachother names, and be done with attaching this drek to your articles.

    Thank you.

His "groundbreaking investigation" of Acorn, Mr. Breitbart?

It was a lie accomplished through selective editing. The only way you can win anything is throuigh fabrication and the manipulation of fear. Your ideology and politics are morally and ethically bankrupt.

The time will come when you will be a minor footnote in history.

They aren't racist. They just make money off racist. It's big business when a black guy is president. These guys make millions because they get so much traffic on their sites. Advertisers don't care what type of site it is, even if it's child p0rn, as long as it get the hits.
