A policeman stands guard in street where Mexican tourists were kidnapped Thursday.
Gunmen have abducted a busload of tourists in Acapulco, Mexico, a spokesman for the Guerrero State attorney general's office told CNN on
Saturday.
The 22 people were captured by an armed gang Friday night. All those aboard the bus were Mexican nationals from the neighboring state of Michoacan.
Mexico. Those are some fun loving people, those drug cartel guys. It's only a matter of time before they hijack a bus full of Americans down in Cancun or Acapulco. And then the doo doo will hit the fan. It's not like they peeked inside the bus to make sure that there were only nationals in there. All the coke sniffing politicians will have to find another source.
Legalize pot, tax it, and regulate it (like we do tobacco and alcohol). Solves two issues: 1) Takes a substantial amount of cash out of the Mexican cartels' pockets and puts it into Americans'; 2) Pretty much would wipe out our national debt in a couple of years.
Furthermore, the legal sentences for illegal immigrants and border trespassers should be severe (MUCH more than they are right now). However, only after we are able to reform our legalization and naturalization process so that it doesn't take someone a decade to get a visa and legally work/live here and be productive.
Finally, we need to protect ALL of our borders. The northern border is the major threat; simply because we lack any true 'border' along a majority of it. The north is where a terrorist would come through, not the observed south where the drug cartels are sending their product through and are fighting everyday with the border patrol.
I don't believe the US should police the world, but I find it amazing how we can fund wars in Vietnam, Korea, Iraq, and Southern America, all for the "spreading of democracy and freedom" , yet can't aid our closest neighbor and trade partner to the south. If you use the argument that our country is in debt and can't possibly afford to provide aid, then please explain to me why we are still in Iraq? It seems to me that Mexican cartels and the violence just south of our border poses a MUCH greater threat to US security than insurgents in Iraq.
John, thank you for your great comment! Of course you are so right about that. As long as people keep thinking in terms of it not being our business or that our troops could get hurt, etc. the opposition is going to WIN and Win BIG they will! And we will have no one but ourselves to blame in the end. As with any war or disagreement, there will always be the potential for casualties but without fighting for justice, where would we be! Therefore, we must act immediately as this thing has already gotten too far out of hand and we should be in there right now teaching those who have been killing our people and others that their days are limited. The time to act is NOW!
No better place for authentic fish tacos, though. Get 'em while they last.
Dear North-american citizens, you must see the next trailer:

my best regards
Oscar, let's not forget that Mexico is Part of North America, just like Canada! Not South America as some mistakenly think.
I know I certainly wouldn't vacation in Mexico at this point.
Given the threat to national security, I do wonder if we have plans to take some kind of action about these cartels living in our backyard, or are we delusional enough to think this only effects Mexico?
Hmmm...take 1 part Iraq, 1 part Somalia and 1 part Afghanistan. Mix well and pour south of the US border and call it Mexico. Why the hell are we overseas? You have tribal disputes(cartels), piracy and government corruption right next door. Maybe it's time to protect our borders instead of everyone elses.
People that knowingly vacation in a war zone will not receive any sympathy from me if they end up part of some crazy drug cartel ritual sacrifice. I wouldn't go to Mexico if they were giving away free hotel rooms . Start using illegal aliens as laborers to dig a moat and build a wall along the Mexican border as payment to the US taxpayers that have had to use their hard earned money to keep them out of the US.
Hey Guys, will you visit SaveStan.ORG a friend of mine with 4 young babies is fighting for his life.....Thanks
america is and is gonna be just an illusion all the rest of the world want to leave this country isolated but they cant america is allways there selling weapons buyingdrugs stealing oil looking for high educated people because this country always need foreigners or immigrants with high level of education tell me if is not truth
Legalize pot, and watch the cartels crumble. I don't use it, don't plan to, not afraid of users either – more afraid of drunk drivers. They would be restricted by smoking laws – which are finally headed in the right direction.
Some of the comments here are truly ludricuous. For instance, "Reilly said: "Therefore, just like Border Patrols are now just feet away from the Mexican side helping the situation out, a goodwill agreement with the Mexican President where the U.S. could enter Mexico and help take care of this ever-growing crisis is what is sorely needed now! That would teach a great lesson to those who think they can take lives, deal drugs, and not have to worry about the consequences. We would then be able to return to Mexico once these people have been caught and arrested or eliminated and would feel much better about the situation at that point."
Are you kidding me??? Do you have any idea what would happen to this country if we were to do just that? The repercussions would be FATAL! Because these drugs cartels would immediately want to come in and retaliate at once.
Furthermore, I agree with the others who already said, we are already in Iraq, Afghanistan and we don't need to lose any more American blood at war, PLEASE!!!
Particularly, in my opinion, I AM SICK and I AM TIRED of the people from MEXICO and SPAIN (and perhaps other countries as well, but for a fact these two countries), who constantly bad talk and blame the American people of every single thing that goes wrong with Mexico and as to the ppl from Spain who feel that everything that goes wrong in the WORLD is OUR FAULT! I've just about had it! If we are so bad, then WHY the hell is it that EVERYBODY wants to come and live here?????????????????????????????????????? Why can't they stay in their own country????
silly man , we don't have to worry about the drug grangs trying to strike back at us ... the president and department of homeland security cheif have said that our borders are secure ....
@Anonymous
So want to live alone in a can?
Unless you have been under a rock you KNOW how powerful dangerous and crazy the drug cartels are in mexico right now. So IF you take a vacation down their at this time you are STUPID!! And it's time the U.S. put out a NO travil advisery for mexico. IF you go down their you are on your OWN!! They are cutting people up with hack saws for heavens sake. You gonna go down their because you got a good deal on a room? Pleeez. You deserve to get abducted.
Mexico is a toilet, and shouldn't be visited by Americans for ANY reason. They've been independent for 200 years, and you still can't drink the water. Drug cartels run the country, the government and cops are corupt, their education system is a joke. Mexico is a third world country, and there is no benefit to the U.S. to even associate with them. They made their beds, now let em lie in them.
Why are these articles always so long? Could have just said," Bad stuff went down in Mexico, but only Mexicans involved." Half the comments are longer, with endless reply chains. Ridicurous...
