A policeman stands guard in street where Mexican tourists were kidnapped Thursday.
Gunmen have abducted a busload of tourists in Acapulco, Mexico, a spokesman for the Guerrero State attorney general's office told CNN on
Saturday.
The 22 people were captured by an armed gang Friday night. All those aboard the bus were Mexican nationals from the neighboring state of Michoacan.
Mexico needs to take care of its problems. Not the US, not Canada, not Timbuktu. Just Mexico.
We have enough of our own problems here, many of them created by Mexicans that comes here illegally. I am sick to death of Mexicans. I will never ever step foot in that country again.
I used to love Mexico. Now I hate the very thought of it.
Why do people think the drugs in Mexico are being consumed in America and Canada? Canada and the USA have far better pot than Mexico ever had. We don't need their drugs. We have our own
You obviously do need their drugs because why else do they keep bringing them in??
Good fences make good neighbors....... Robert Frost.
Oh, well. CNN doesn't want anyone to post any real solutions, so the PC post-choppers are out and about.
Thats funny in the whole paragragh not did I once see America or police? You people on these boards are so great at assuming. Too funny most of you comment here. How many Mexicans are comming across the boarder this year? Why is it that more have been sent back this year compared to any previous administrations. You people on these boards have no right to claim your Americans. I dont subscribe to your foolish banter or clownisms. Have a nice day!

I think its finally sunk in that Americans cannot change anything....so why waste out time?
I am a US citizen living and studying medicine in Mexico. Studying here because the cost of studying medicine is too high in my own country. Studying here so I can go back to the States and help my countrymen with preventive medicine to keep them from killing themselves with their lifestyles. I am not an exception. There are many others like myself; an American studying abroad. Mexico doesn't have problems the US doesn't have. If the Mexican government plays their cards right, all of the violence Mexico is experiencing can be used to help them turn some things around in this country. Don't think the Mexican government isn't aware of this. Of course they see the potential for improvement. The Mexican people are reaping what they have been sowing for decades. Dishonesty at every level of society, double standards and a complete lack of accountability and quality control. I speak in general terms. But these problems have plagued Mexico much more so than the US; and have been more widespread. This is not a "Mexican" problem. Or an "American" problem. It is a global problem. Americans really need to curb the drug use. Mexicans really need to stop living in fear and apathy. A joint effort is REQUIRED to prevent catastrophic consequences. If what is happening here in Mexico, was happening in the US, there would be Martial Law, rioting in the streets, total chaos. As dangerous and crime-filled as we think we have it in the States, its really nothing compared to the insanity and terror that a huge chunk of the population are experiencing here.
for a moment it was like you were talking about south chicago. there are many places in the us that should be under martial law.
Not a whole lot of information...
Look:
If you are dumb enough to saunter your behind down to a country where the U.S. State Dept told you not to go to, then you get just what you deserve.......
It seems comments beget comments but I wonder if anyone remembers the topic and content of the story all these comments are attached to? – it was about a bus hijacking/kidnap – no where does it say that anyone is asking for help or for US intervention. To the AH Jonathan – did Mexico help the US? Think Katrina for one. I suggest you all get off your drug habits and reduce the demand for product coming from/through Mexico and things would quite down a bit here – and maybe if you all sober up and get off the drugs you can have more time to read up on world afffairs and become a bit more knowledgeable – for the most part the posters here seem to be morons.
Thank you GTO. I was going to give the fool a piece of my mind, but you did it with such knowledge, I bow to you.
BIll good job at least we still have people that can read and understand what it is to research the facts, instead of falling into the groupthink phenomenon that many people here have fallen into. It is funny how some of these posters would consider themselves educated.
Here! Here! I wholeheartedly agree, my good sir. Now if you'll excuse, I gotta go 'burn one'.
Reign of terror.
Anyone who goes to Mexico knowinbg how bad things are there – deserves whatever they get. Just like going to Iran or North Korea. Pleople need to use their brains.
What do you know about Mexico, Iran, or N. Korea? Have you ever been to these countries? Since the only information you get is from the news and we all know how much the news blows everything out of proportion, now step back and think about how much you really know about these places. I would take an educated guess at your knowledge level of these places is 0. So people that come here to the United States and something bad happens to them they deserve whatever they get as well? Bad things happen here just as everywhere else in this world. So you think that it is okay for bad things to happen to people, What if it was a member of your family is it still okay then? Speaking of using your brains, you need to take your own advice.
during the katrina crisis the mexican army entered into the us to help out with setting camps for refugees.
i just came from mexico, i did not see anything that would worried me. stop basing your opinions on what you read in the news. there is a crisis, but news agencies blow things out of proportion
