Man arrested in connection with quadruple slayings

Kimani Washington faces weapons charges in connection with the shooting deaths.

A Massachusetts man has been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of four people, including a toddler, in Boston Tuesday, police said Saturday.

Kimani Washington, 35, was arrested without incident Friday night in an apartment complex in Manchester, New Hampshire, police there said. He is being held in New Hampshire pending his arraignment at Manchester District Court on a fugitive from justice charge.

"Today should serve as a warning to all those who seek to harm others,"
said Boston Mayor Thomas Menino. "Our offices will not rest until you are hunted down, captured and locked up."

In Massachusetts, Washington faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and receiving a stolen motor vehicle in connection with the shooting, Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis said.

The brutal shootings occurred on Sept. 28 around 1:15 a.m. in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston.

The shootings did not appear to be random, District Attorney Dan Conley said earlier this week. The individuals were found lying in the street - one of them naked. He has not been charged with murder.

Police identified the victims as Eyanna Louise Flonory, 21, her 2-year-old son, Amanihotep Smith, Simba Martin, 21, and Lavaughan Washum-Garrison, 22, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

A fifth person was brought to the hospital in critical condition.

The police commissioner declined to comment on whether Washington may have been the shooter in this case. He also refused to say whether police have any other suspects.

instead of blaming the guns for killing people why dont you first look at the people involved. a drug dealer, and people buying drugs.. why dont you blame the situation that these people put themselves in in the first place.... who is doing drugs or buying drugs with a 2 year old present anyway. the only innocent one out of all of them is the toddler

Here here! I completely agree with you, Pete. I think what irritates me the most about people who are "anti-gun" is that they don't even realize how many people are actually saved from someone owning/using a handgun. All they care about is that people get killed by them. Well.....I say.....when you put yourself into that sort of a situation, what else can you expect? And to have a child present while you are exchanging drugs and money? It was just a horrid situation that happened. It was NOT the gun's fault, nor is it the fault of gun owners everywhere. How about we place the blame where it is most deserved.....on the jacka$$ who shot everyone.

It's there own fault for getting killed. If the victims exercised their second amendment rights this would not have happened.

A very sad story. This is what happens when any idiot can acquire a gun. The gun laws need to be changed in America. To the NRA: if you are scared (which we all know you get scared very easily – why have a gun?) pray to your God. I am sure he will listen and tuck you into bed at night.

I think that some of us here didn't not read the entire news story or didn't care to read and post to advertise their ________ here.

I hope that the word "UNLAWFUL" from the above statements I quoted from the news story bring them back to their senses.

God had nothing to do with this. We all have free will, and we can exercise it for good or ill. As to why He seems to not intervene, no one can help anyone bent on destroying his/her life, or help anyone period, if they don't want to be helped, they will have to bear whatever consequences that come their way....

It makes me laugh that people are blaming this on guns. If this man didn't kill them with a gun, he would have killed them with a knife or something else. So, after we ban guns, are we going to ban knives too? Then after that, let's ban baseball bats, those can kill. This man causes a horrible tragedy and people are blaming guns??? That's the problem with society, it's always somebodys elses fault or some other reasons fault. This man is an animal! Guns are kept in homes to protect ourselves from animals like him!

Just because someone got ahold of a gun and commited a crime, brutal or not, shouldnt mean we should change the laws protecting guns. For hundreds of years people with guns have done henous things. We wouldnt even have America if it wasnt for a bunch of crazy idealists with muskets. We have the right to bear arms in order to form a militia. Even tho Americans today would never uprise like this, we still have that right! Gun crimes are ancient, even before newspapers and tvs. And to the stupid lady that said that guns are bad blah blah blah. If we ever are invaded, your going to look pretty dumb standing on your front lawn with a sword, just saying.

So many things wrong with this post. Where to begin...
One of your arguments for being pro-gun is that people have always done heinous things with guns, so we shouldn't make an effort to stop?
Your next, and probably most valid argument, the right to form a militia, you say yourself is outdated by saying that Americans would never rise up in a militia. Saying that gun crimes are older than TV's is no statement at all, considering TVs are less than 100 years old. And no, guns are not older than newspapers...
Then, you call someone stupid, and end the very same sentence with "blah, blah, blah"
Thanks for the laughs, although, on a more concerned note, it's idiots like you that make me question whether common people should have access to guns.
