Sources: Possible drone strike in Pakistan kills 8 Germans

Eight suspected German nationals were killed in a suspected drone strike in northwestern Pakistan, two Pakistani officials said Monday.

The strike happened in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, the officials said. Missiles struck a building that eight suspected German militants were in,
the officials said.

The eight are believed to have been members of the group Jihad al Islami, the officials said.

Well, it's an improvement over the last administration's policy of allying itself with Pakistan's military dictator and never daring to strike at the new base of Al Quaida. What a waste of time this past decade has been! We had Al Quaida in our grasp, but Bush and Cheney thought we need to redirect our resources to Iraq instead until Al Quaida conveniently sets up new bases elsewhere, escaping Afghanistan. Now we have to start the hunt all over again!

Yes, cap the wells, make a diamond desert out of it, and call it "New Texas!" Just think, if we could come up with a replacement for oil, we would have no use for them and their uncivilized, violent religion. We can only hope.

I don't care if they are Germans, or British, or Americans...if they are in that region in the terrorist camps, they are there for one reason only. They are not sight-seeing. They are all terrorist criminals, and deserve what comes to them.

There more common news flashes from them would then read:

-bomb attack kills 20 of the evil citizens here trying to get jobs building the roads used by the infidels.
-two of our brethren have successfully killed a village elder who stood against us.
-successful gas attack poisons and kills 15 girls who dared to go to that evil school and get an education.
-5 martyrs will ultimately get their reward for dying in a missile attack while planting a roadside bomb to target the infidels.

So many of these comments are evil, pure and simple. Unmanned drones are about the most evil weapon we've come up with and their use is criminal. We have absolutely NO right to kill people with unmanned drones, to invade and destroy other people's countries and to behave as we have been. So many in this country pride themselves on their "Christianity" – what a truly SICK joke! Christ demanded our love for one another – the crimes we're committing against humanity are blasphemous. We have become the terrorists and I pray we regain our humanity before it's too late.

It would be irresponsible NOT to kill these terrorists. They deserve no better treatment than a rabid dog on a playground.

Dadsnorz, do you not understand the TERROR we're causing throughout the world? The innocent people we've maimed and killed are in the hundreds of thousands! And they are mostly CHILDREN, just like our own! If it's irresponsible not to kill "terrorists" we need to look in the mirror.

The drones operate with the Pakistanis approval, and approval for killings is obtained one-by-one from both the Pakistanis and the US President.

Evidence please? I don't believe this. There certainly are some innocent lives that are lost, but less from drones than other attacks.
And a child's life living under the Taliban is already "lost"...

From a military point of view this was by the book. Ahmed Sidiqi was captured and through interrogation he informed on his buddies of their intent and location. A strike order was drawn up, authorized and executed. Nothing personal.

Ms. Miller, I must respectfully disagree with you. You state that the U.S. actions are terror, yet they are military actions aimed against combatants. I am not sure what your definition of terror is, but my working definition is attacks whose aim it is to incite fear in the population, and specifically aimed at civilians. These drone strikes are clearly not that. While I am certain that some civilians have been inadvertently killed in drone strikes, the same was also true of combat operation in World War 2, the Korean War, or any other recent conflict. When civilians were targeted in the U.S. by terrorists given sanctuary by the government in place in Afghanistan on September 11, 2001, the only logical response was war. The rest is incidental to winning that conflict. I would also point out that wars are won by attrition of resources. You have to kill the enemy. Upon examining the facts, your views are clearly delusional.
