Vatican official criticizes award of Nobel Prize to Robert Edwards

An official with the Vatican criticized the decision to award the Nobel prize for medicine to British doctor Robert G. Edwards for his work on in vitro fertilization, Italy's official news agency ANSA reported Tuesday.

Ignazio Carrasco de Paula, president of the Pontifical Academy for Life, said giving the award to Edwards was "completely inappropriate," according to the news agency.

He said Edwards' work had created a market for human eggs and created problems of embryos being frozen, the news agency said.

      Why are you trying to redefine what is alive when it come to humanity. Life begins at conception: when the egg is fertilized. Nothing DEAD implants itself. Implantation as nothing to do with the status the embryo: it is life. It is alive before implanting in the womb.

      First, Mary, the Mother of God, the Mother of Jesus, was not barren.
      Second, Immaculate Conceptin has nothing to do with Jesus' birth...it is a truth about the birth of Mary. It declares that she was concieved without sin...without original sin, sinless at no time the mother, Mary, was ever under the authority or darkness of Satan. It was a signal grace bestown on Her by Gid. She is Satan's enemy and he her ever adversary, Unlike her sister eve, the New Eve has crushed his head. Remember your Bible, it was Elizabeth that was called barren.
