Michael Brewer says the boys who set him on fire a year ago, "got what they deserved."
Brewer said he wished the three boys who poured alcohol on him and torched him with a lighter were "right here" so he could deal with them himself.
Brewer added he's getting counseling for his anger. His remarks came during a 16th birthday party thrown for Brewer by residents of a retirement facility near Fort Lauderdale.
The seniors befriended the teen after hearing about the incident which had Brewer fighting for his life.
The three boys who set Brewer on fire a year ago have been charged as adults and face attempted murder charges. All three remain in jail.
An apparent dispute over a bicycle and a music CD set off the events.

how are we raising our kids seems like we are raising them to be animals. there are adult bullies also and quite frankly i am tired of it. its sick and these kids dont need to be shown mercy. and brewer has every right to be angry.
Good Heavens! Has the United States of America~have we let the crazies do THIS to us?~where we cant even wish this very brave young man to be well and happy, without FIGHTING OVER IT!~And the Boys who did this to Michael DO need to be IN jAIL! Would you REALLY want to have YOUR child meet up with these guys on the street!??
if he is laughing at me then he is laughing at the Brotherhood as a whole. so was he in some hooterville dept. Oh and trust me in NY and major Texas city you learn fast or die
@tomcat- not at you just your statement, he serves proudly in Pittsburgh. As for me as I said I'm retired, but every night when I sleep I serve again, I see my boys die. Hubby is asking me to stop blogging about this, he saids he doesn't want to hold my hand all night. So all I can say is I wish you a long life and restful sleep.
@lynn I agree totally with u but these parents are not raising these kids anymore all parents are doing are bringing them into the world feeding clothing and providing a roof for them but not teaching them morals or respect i have no sympathy for those3 boys or any of these out of conrolteens.
so the old man has 38 years on the job I guess they let him drive out of respect I doubt he gets the nob oh and by the way I was in during the early eightees when leather helmets were the norm and scott packs were an option
no disrespect to you or him. thanks for what you did and he does. I apologize after loosing a friend in 9 11 I tend to be very outspoken in my views God bless you both and have an Iron City with some scrapple for me. (just another mick whose family came from Easton) take care
@Betty...YOU need counseling if you think that setting another person on fire is a case of "boys will be boys". Remind me to keep my boys away from yours.
just let it go
read what she has been through. she as I are very stubborn want to debate? start with me
get your hand out of your pants and your aoys will be fine
sorry boys will be fine
Setting someone on fire its clearly attempted murder and these kids arent that ignorant to know that. So this is not just a simple game of kids.
You all need to go to bed. Arguing amongst yourselves? Sad story. Sad for all of us.
@larry kind of felt sorry her. thanx for opening my eyes.
