Fort Hood shooting hearing opens, then adjourns

The military opened a hearing Tuesday for Maj. Nidal Hasan, the U.S. Army psychiatrist accused of last year's Fort Hood shootings, then adjourned it almost immediately.

Hasan is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 in a shooting spree at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas.

The hearing will determine whether Hasan will be court-martialed - which could potentially lead to the death penalty.

Obama ran on helping the average citizen. They all do. I notice whenever you bring up an easy solution to unemployment like outlawing outsourcing the partisan sheep dodge the issue. USING CAPS sporadically in your text does not change your message. $1.4 trillion dollars could have given $30,000.00 to every taxpayer. That money could be used to pay off a mortgage, buy a car, or pay off personal debt. The corporate fat cats that were the beneficiaries of the stimulus could find solvency from other businesses or countries. They got a killer loan at a great low interest rate. The powerful want us all in debt so we can be slaves to them. Hillary Clinton essentially blamed high school kids who are targeted by drug dealers as the reason for Mexican violence. Our government knows where the drugs are produced yet they ignore the cartels and blame American children. Obama is a smooth talking say anything politician PERIOD. Americans know this. He doesn’t want to fix the problems because then Americans wouldn’t need him. Its munchausen syndrome politics.

He is under court-marshall jurisdiction, and I have no problem with that. The problem I have is: Who the Hell is monitoring the sanity of the psychiatrists? Even on those who have no prior disposition to mental illness, the work of dealing with refractory patients, day after day and week after week, can cause a breakdown. Military psychiatrists, in particular, are too few, overburdened with heavy caseloads, and are dealing with difficult case histories. In this case, there was a cultural predisposition to crack in this particular way, but another one could do so out of fanatical Christianity... or Prohibitionism... or eugenicism... or vegetarianism... or you name the ism. Dr. M. Scott Peck, a former military psychiatrist, wound up thinking he had actually seen the Devil. Our armed forces not only need to recruit more psychiatrists and rotate them more quickly, they need to shrink the shrinks on a regular basis.

To let this guy live would be a slap in the face to all that died. But first study him. One needs to know one's enemies better than themselves. This is war, and he is a traitor of the highest degree. He used our system to educate himself and then turned on us. A true coward. Didn't even have the guts to off himself after shooting our people in cold blood.

I say 13 shots to the head and 32 shots in the back for Hasan with public video and television coverage.

Why is this court martial even debatable? He did what he did.

One more comment–people, people: You keep focusing on the president to fix all of our problems. He is just one person. Everyone knows that congress has much more power than the president. Focus on them. They are unable to do much at this point due to bipartisan deadlock. Hammer on them–they are the problem. They are the ones that got us into Iraq. Bush could do nothing without them. They are at LEAST as culpable as Bush for most of our problems...

His conviction should be shift, and not cost us much to put this terrorist down. Show the world how to handle terrorist. The year anniversary of the death of our 13 soldiers, and still Obama doesn't remark on this attack as being an terrorist attack.
