This is where orgs. Like the UN could be useful. Finance the world mine rescue team. No politics, no borders, no agenda. Just rescue. That would be befitting of their charter. Eventually expand to the world's leading experts in life safety, rescue, and other worthwhile efforts.

Mining is dangerous, mine-operators avaricious, and if anyone belongs in a cave, it's nope.avi.

they must feel left out, only 4, fill it in and call it good. Seriuosly though, in chin.a the inspectors own part of the mining companies they are paid to regulate. They die by the hundreds, it sounds bad but they get paid well for semi skilled labor because its dangerous! They knew the score before they went down. Still sad

If no expense is spared to save them
Will that not lead to mine owner wanting to prevent accident. They should b made to.

i need a new matress, but other than that fine. the key word in my ideaology is sustainability, some things and people simply arent worth it. not the miners, but trying to get safe mines and cheap natural resourses are conflicting, guess which way it goes? april 21 mean anything, safety came in far past first priority, they lobby, set their own regulations and then dont even follow them. record double digit billion dollar PROFITS. then when told to spend a few million on safety they say they cant afford it. if we dont change a little we will have to change alot...vote. no one in washington feels your pain, and could not care less how much it hurts. all they here is blah blah blah. get them out

@wow... If you think america wants you here, why all the protests at ground zero. Obama wants to have his cake and eat it too. Talks out both sides of his as.s. America has no idea how far your govt. Will go to secure and cover up. Love my country, hate how its being run. Chile incident was great, but you have to accept the risk with the reward... The profits are per quarter. Almost 50 billion last year. Your local gsa station gets pennies a gallon. Lobbying and campaign regulations wont work, your asking politicians to bite the hand that feeds happen to see the two step bobby jengle in n.o. Did this summer.nothing will change, each party trying to find a way to out wit the other, last thing on their mind is you.or me. Still love it here but its not what it should be.

Look if youve never been in a mine then you dont know what these guys are goin thru. fill it in and call it a day? you need to be buried alive and see what its like. mining is no joke. its not semi skilled labor. its honest hard work performed by hard working well trained men. you tell me how semi skilled workers can tunnel under the earth and keep the place from falling on them for years. ive spent a few years underground and have seen good men hurt never to work again. you all need to respect miners and appreciate the work they do for you
