At Fort Hood: sounds of war, memories of a massacre
The distant rumble of big guns on Fort Hood's artillery range rattles the ceiling tiles in the small military courtroom.
But the sounds of war training don't interrupt the intensity inside the military hearing as dozens of witnesses here recall that day last November when 13 people were shot to death and 32 wounded on the base in central Texas.
Training with Paladin howitzers is part of everyday life at Fort Hood, the country's largest Army base. Most of the shooting victims were preparing to ship out to the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan.
But nothing prepared them for what happened to them at home - dodging bullets as a gunman cut down their buddies.

The solders were unarmed and it was base security who fired at that terrorist. One man with a gun has more power over many without.
The police that work there on the post are integrated with the MP's. That started in the late 90's as a way to let the MP's focus on deploying to theaters of war. They are Federal Police Officers, not just regular civilian cops from Killeen or another agency. They work there every single day and know the community.

His diversity was celebrated and the day after this terrorist attack, Gen Casey was touring the TV news shows saying the army needs more muslim diversity to do its job. Also remember the Cole attacks where the sailors along with their commanding officer waved in the boatload of terrorists that blew them up. To make matters worse, the navy was warned about this type of attack because some locals tried the same thing a month earlier but their boat sank before it could go off.
I was presnt the day of the shooting, and I am here to tell you there was nothing proud that happened that day. Whether you think that this would never happen at an Israeli base or not has nothing to do with it. The fact is that a US Army Officer tried everything he could to get out of the Army and when the Army would not consent to his request, he resorted to extremist measures based from the teachings and views given to him by his terrorist connections.
If every soldier was aloud to get out of their contract because they did not want to go to war, then we would not have a sustainable force. Soldiers do not go to war because they choose to, they go because they have to, they are ordered (by the commander in chief ((the President for those who need the hint)), and because every soldier knows two undeniable facts; 1) Freedom is never free, it is won and achieved by the sacrifice and blood of those HONORED to give such to award it to those not ready, unable or afraid to do the same, and 2) Soldiers do not have rights...We give ours up to protect and serve those who take them for granted everyday...HOOAH!!!
And for those who say we are not fighting for our freedom because we are in other countries fighting for things that have nothing to do with us....If we never got involved with WWII, and Hitler was never stopped, where do you think he would have taken the fight next? Saddam was nothing more than the next Hitler. The world is not a perfect place; without hate, there can be no love and without war, there can be no peace. If someone does not stand up and tel the world that certain actions will never be tolerated, then eventually we will be the next country torn apart from war.
I constantly read about people hating the military, but if you had any intelligence, you'd know it was the Government that drives us and we simply execute orders. Don't hate those who wear the uniform and are proud to die so you can enjoy the right to say you hate them!!!

It is sad to say that so many troops have given the ultimate sacrifice so that you could say something so awful about them "just like drone attacks is part of a war, Fort hood is a fair game to be considered as part of a war as well. SO no remorse for these trained mercenaries. what goes around, comes around" these men were unarmed and not on an active battlefront, unlike those attacked by drones where they attack in afghanistan and flee to pakistan like cowards.

TWA Flight 847 was not hijacked. Lockerbie never occured. No one died at the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on 19 April 1995. The hostages taken in Iran in 1979, well that story was a complete fabrication. Al-Qaeda never tried to attack the USS The Sullivans. The disco in Berlin that was bombed 5 April 1986? That was probably the US military who did it and concocted a cover story. The Marine barracks in Beirut magically vanished into thin in 23 October 1983. The 1998 bombings of US Embassies in Africa, I made those up.

You do realize that the people we need to take over in Iraq and Afghanistan if we are to have any hope of getting out of either theater are all muslims, right? Of course you don't. The reality is that we NEED to work with Muslims if these wars are ever going to end, not to mention the fact that there are plenty of Muslim Americans serving already who do so with honor and valor well beyond yours. How does it make you feel to know that there are Muslims sacrificing more for your country than you?
