Florida "Hiccup Girl" charged with murder

Police: Jennifer Mee, AKA "Hiccup Girl," is charged with first-degree murder

A Florida teenager who gained national notoriety for a case of the hiccups that lasted for weeks in 2007 has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, authorities said.

Jennifer Mee, 19, was arrested and charged Sunday, according to jail booking information on the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office website. In 2007, Mee's non-stop hiccups gained national attention. She earned the nickname "Hiccup Girl" and appeared multiple times on NBC's "Today" show.

Mee and two others - Laron Raiford, 20, and Lamont Newton, 22 - were arrested and accused of fatally shooting a man during an armed robbery attempt in St. Petersburg, Florida, Saturday night. FULL STORY

    I don't believe any hiccup comment has been funny so far. I write something that is actually funny or I just write something serious.
    This is sad. Once again a system apparatus designed to just keep people employed using taxpayer dollars has been fed, one possibly three, more murderers.
    Last week had a murderer been publicly executed the day after sentencing, the male victim in this case would be alive today. This event would not have taken place.
    Everyone would have known what fate awaits them and then not committed murder.

    Good – the news media puts these people front and center and build them up. Like the one who threw acid in her face. People sent this clown thousands of dollars and cards and flowers. Next up is gonna be that woman who said Mexican pirates killed her husband.

      Yup Yup really doubting that husband and wife story on pirate lake... Why would the mexicans decapitate a guy unless they "HAD" to get really defensive and people that get overly defensive are generally innocent of the crime accused. This hiccup lady needs life in prison.

    The victim had the hiccups at time of crime. The shooter was lee's jealous boyfriend and thought the victim was flirting with lee. And out of rage the shooter fataly shoots victim in the throat. The end!

    I didn't write the three in this case should be executed. I wrote a man would be alive right now if the correct system for detering murder were in place.
    There is difference but your comprehension skills are so very limited that you choose to continue to attack me instead. Then you make an absolutely absurd comment that I would be involved in the murder of someone. So here is something for you, you c u next tuesday.
    If you became a victim because your entire family is systematically killed next week, would you want the death penalty enforced immediately?
