You can now add the United Nations to the list of stores, theaters and landmarks as locations where bedbugs have been detected in New York City.
"Over the weekend, dogs detected bedbugs in conference room chairs. Infected chairs have now been replaced," said a verbal announcement from the the U.N. spokesman's office.
The United Nations has long been known as a hotbed of spying activity, but these bugs appear to be the decidedly low-tech crawly type.
have they any idea why this NY infestation started and how it is so bad now?
Where is Jim Brieske when you need him? I KNOW he would have the answers.
WOW! The bugs get around just about everywhere nowadays. Now all we have 2 do is contact the pest control! (& ghost busters)
hehe
Ghost buster bugs....now this is just my thory these infestation started with clothing manufactor in poor countries low incomes and terrible condition just so american companies can set up shop an pay the lowest labor cost well i guess those bugs decided 2 hitch a ride 2 a better life in the usa. It a bugs life
Instead of getting rid of the bed bugs at the UN we should exterminate the leaders at the UN building since all of them are worthless and can not fix a damn thing in the world. The world would be a better place without the UN.
uneedhelp- are you Jim?
I thought they did away with bed bugs in the 1920's
Everyone knows the bedbug reinfestations begin to appear after the Ocean 11 series
Bed bugs aren't all that easy to get rid of. Multiple exterminator visits. Expensive.

Heat is the only 100% Safe GREEN method to stop the spread of and kill Bed Bugs.
As per the US Armed Forces guidelines (dating back to WW1) the whole structure and everything in it needs to be heated to be effective in getting rid of Bed Bugs. A simple steam wand or shot of frozen gas can not get deep into the areas where Bed Bugs live and don’t be fooled by 1 hour heat treatment. Pesticides usually take 3 treatments and would you want your children to sleep where they just sprayed toxic chemicals!
Call Frank the BedBug Chaser we're the only true nationwide HEAT SPECIALISTS at 908-510-8110 or visit me on Facebook @ "BedBug Chaser" to see if heat is right for you.
I guess it just goes to show that no one is too good for bedbugs. I agree though that chemicals are not how you should treat bedbugs. Diatomaceous Earth is an all natural, safe product that effectively gets rid of them. I get mine from http://www.gardenharvestsupply.com/ProductCart/pc/Diatomaceous-Earth-Food-Grade-p39.htm
