The they had just lived into, they didn't enroll her into school. Telling neighbors Zahra was home schooled. Of all the people who tried to report the abuse, nobody ever saw the S-mom hit her physiaally.

@ JustMe comment #49: Beautiful words that describe exactly how I feel! I wish you the absolute best and many blessings when you begin your family. You will probably be a wonderful mother. I have 2 teenage daughters and they are the most incredible blessing and gift to my life. It is very truly an honor and a priveledge to be a parent!

Nancy Grace cried on the TV, reporting on this event. I think the whole nation cried with her.

Did they find any pirate booty or a treasure map in her fake leg? That would be cool. She's probably not dead, just using a peg-leg and working as slave labor at a Six Flags somewhere, or possibly as a seafood restaurant mascot.

"History doesn't repeat itself, but it does RHYME"
    - Mark Twain

Someone mentioned the Lisa Steinberg abuse/death (NYC, 1987), & I did some research. I was aghast to find horrifyingly similar situation: signs of abuse (black eyes), PERSISTENT complaints by neighbors, people saying "everyone failed to protect this child":

The City That Couldn't Save The Little Girl
    http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/notorious_murders/family/lisa_steinberg/6.html

"In the months following the couple's arrests there were hundreds of stories about Lisa's life. The hostility toward the defendants was remarkable. Almost daily, the city's newspapers ran a story about Steinberg and Nussbaum. Repeated printings and airings of photos of a smiling and adorable Lisa generated sympathy for the little girl and antipathy for her parents."

"Tenants at 14 W. 10th Street and neighbors were particularly vociferous. "Who protected this child?" one said. The New York Times interviewed a producer for the television show "20/20" who lived on the first floor of the Steinberg's building. "We reported it to all the proper agencies," she said. A neighbor who said she called a child-abuse hot line said responding investigators were unable to verify the charges. "They came and did an investigation and said there was no evidence of child abuse," "

The above case had a twist: the monster (Joel Steinberg) beat up both his daughter (Lisa) & his wife (Hedda, successful writer). The physical abuse described is horrifying. Everything we are seeing with Zahra points to a couple of "monster parents": taking out their frustrations (losers in their own lives) on someone vulnerable. Absolute COWARDICE!!
