Baby survives 7-story fall
An 18-month-old girl in Paris, France, appeared unhurt after falling seven stories and bouncing off an awning into a man's arms, witnesses told Le Parisien newspaper.
Witnesses said the child and a sibling had been left alone briefly Monday in their seventh-floor apartment in the city's 20th arrondissement, east of the central city. The girl fell out of a window, but a boy on the street saw her falling and alerted his father, who caught the baby after she bounced off the awning of a tobacco shop and cafe on the building's ground floor, the paper reported.
The man with the quick reflexes and good hands, a doctor, looked over the girl and didn't find any injuries, but handed her off to an ambulance crew to be safe, according to Le Parisien.

Hurray for the boy and his father. That girl and her parents are EXTREMELY fortunate and let's hope no one makes her brother feel guilty for not standing in for their parents and protecting her. He, too, was at risk and could well have fallen in reaching for her. Imagine his horror. And let's not argue with people who don't yet believe in God. Allow them the time God is giving them. Neither you nor they are accountable to one another for beliefs or lack thereof. We are accountable only to ourselves and to God.

How old was the baby? How much did she weigh? How high is the window from the floor? How easy was it for the baby to climb out of the window? How long did it take her to exit the window? How long were the kids alone? How old was the sibling? What kind of awning was this? I'm really curious about the logistics of this. I don't believe in any kind of divine intervention. I think everything that happens, good and bad, is the result of coincidence or human action/inaction.

18 months. Probably around 25 lbs. Low enough for an 18 month old to climb. As easy as taking candy from a baby. A brief amount of time. Briefly. Old enough to appear responsible to the parents but young enough to fail to prevent the incident. Tobacco shop style. It played out without planning or organization – if there were logistics involved, that would indicate some degree of this. You are not a broad conceptual type of individual, are you? You should go into the CSI field.
You know you never hear about children falling out of windows and dying, you only hear about them being saved. Huh.

Actually, I hear about people falling out of buildings and dying and surviving all the time, you're just not paying attention. Eric Clapton's son died that way in NYC and more recently a suicide jumper survived a 42 story fall (also in NYC). This story probably wouldn't have made international news but for the cartoon nature of the kid bouncing off the awning and into the doctor's arms.

Listen, for those of you who question God, He does not need to explain Himself to anyone, He is the Alpha and Omega. Don't try and pencil God into your silly lives, or try to use your finite minds to figure The Infinite One. That is why he tells us that we must walk by faith. Stop trying to rationalize everything, because you can only see as far as your hand and that is it. God saw you even before your bones were formed in your momma's womb. Why does He save one and not another? Leave it alone, just praise Him for who He is, THE ALMIGHTY GOD, HOLY SPIRIT AND JESUS CHRIST, period!
