Georgia televangelist denies sex allegations

Bishop Eddie Long denied accusations of sexual misconduct in court papers.

Prominent Georgia televangelist Bishop Eddie Long has denied claims outlined in a suit filed in September which accuses him of coercing four young male congregants into sexual relationships. Read details about the suits.

According to court documents filed in DeKalb County, Georgia, Long denied each man's claim. However, Long said he provided cars to the young men so they would have transportation to school and work. The bishop also provided housing when the men needed it, according to the documents.

A preacher at New Birth Missionary Baptist, a megachurch outside Atlanta, Long had earlier vowed that he would "fight" accusations against him. The suits say Long traveled with the young men to locations in the United States and abroad and shared a hotel room and engaged in sexual contact with them, including massaging, masturbation or oral sex. It's just sad that no matter what happens, his brainwashed congregation will uphold him. He has their minds and they don't even realize t. I do believe that eventually they'll start to fall off, but most of them will stand by their pastor even once the truth comes out.

And to those who are inndefense of him: sit and think toyourself why he couldn't say his was innocent from the beginning. Ponder that for a minute. Ask yourself why his attorneys had to find a legal way for him to deny the charges.

because that's what you pay attorney's for STUPID. If I paid an attorney that went to law school for 8 years and has over 15 years experience in the law, i'd listen to him and take his advice. If he tells me to be quite i'd be quite. The media can create an image for you and you'd believe everything they say without real information, first hand knowledge or common sense. But this man had wisdom enough to keep his mouth closed... you need to try it sometimes.

I work for attorneys – there is no attorney on God's earth that would have prevent him from saying "I am innocent." "I did not do this." SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT!

jaymill. Innocent till proven guilty went out the church doors when a third and a fourth accuser walked in them.
A second one it's a stretch, but one could think maybe he's jumping on the bandwagon with the first. But 3 and 4, no explaination possible. He' guilty.

The number of accusations does not make the accusers truthful. These accusers have something to gain, nothing to lose. If 6 people accused you of being a THEF does that make you one? Just because 6 people said you were. Be real.... if this is your deepest thought, you need to think again.

Jim....true. This "preacher" teaches his fleece flock that only those openly confessing their sins will be forgiven, and then fights on behalf of child-molestors everywhere.

And child-molesting isn't just a sin, it is a crime and must be paid for even if God forgives him.

WOW! Brian D. u sound a little frustrated and upset. but i also believe that he did this to the young guys and needs to be punished for it. Think about it.... if u had somene giving u money, housing, trips, and whatever else u wanted, u would keep quiet too, until it all runs out. THink these guys got upset because he cut them off and they want revenge... thats just my belief, could be wrong though... idk

Listen Eddie Long I believe is guilty its hard for me the fathom that multiple individuals would came out and make these serious claims. Eddie Long should come clean and if not for himself, do it for the sake of your congregation.

Meloto what is up with you replying in every other response., Seriously do you have nothing else better to do. Obviously youre either a new birth member or have been watching too much Eddie Long on tv. On to better things, i wonder why it took him so long to just say you know I didn't do it, I feel sorry for the victims whatever their motives are to accuse me, i forgive them, but God knows I din't do it and they know I didnt do it. Sound more like a pastoral response. Preachers shouldn't hide behind loawyers. Our conduct should be impecable. Paul indicates tht certain things shouldn't be names among us. My problem is not that he may like men because we all have sinned and some of us have done worst, but that he would continue to indulge and do this over and over, taking them on trips and that money could have fed the porr, paid someone of lower income's rent in the church, and showed the world an example of Christ's love in the 21st
century. we cant give the world anything to say about us, when they hear chrisitian they expect us to do things differently than they do. Wht is the number one reason people in the world say they are not going to churfh, most say I need to get myself together first. Well news flash to the wrld, we aren't all the way together either, therefore Christ died and Eddie Long isn't suprising the Father.

If the allegations were true and could not be proven here on earth, I'll like to remind all involved that it would be proven in eternity because God is not mocked!
