Republicans win congressional seats in Virginia, Florida, Indiana

Virginia Republican Robert Hurt has defeated freshman Democratic incumbent Rep. Tom Perriello in the race for the 5th Congressional District, CNN projects.

Florida Republican Dan Webster has defeated Democratic incumbent Rep. Alan Grayson in the race for the 8th Congressional District, CNN projects.

Virginia Republican Morgan Griffith has defeated Democratic incumbent Rep. Rick Boucher in the race for the 9th Congressional District, CNN projects.

Indiana Republican Larry Bucshon has defeated Democrat Trent Van Haaften in the race for the 8th Congressional District, CNN projects.

Oklahoma Republican incumbent Sen. Tom Coburn has won his bid for a second term, CNN projects, beating out Democratic nominee Jim Rogers. Projections are based on CNN analysis of exit poll data.

Tennessee Republican Bill Haslam has defeated Democrat Mike McWherter in the race for governor, CNN projects. Democratic Gov. Phil Bredesen is term-limited.
