Boxer and Brown pick up victories for Dems in California

Projections are based on CNN analysis of exit poll data:

Former California Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown has defeated Republican Meg Whitman in the race for California governor, CNN projects. Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is term-limited.

California Democratic incumbent Sen. Barbara Boxer has won a fourth term in the Senate, CNN projects, beating out GOP nominee Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard and adviser to John McCain's presidential campaign in 2008.

Democratic incumbent Sen. Daniel Inouye has defeated Republican Cam Cavasso to retain his Hawaii Senate seat, CNN projects.

Whitman was totally unprepared for Nicky Diaz's statement against her. Public could see Whitman's guilt and no amount of money could have rescued her candidacy.

Jerry Brown will be a disaster and the rest of the American taxpayers will be the true losers from this election.

Jerry Brown was TERRIBLE in the 70's. Does everyone have amnesia?

Yes, Brown wasn't what California needed in the '70s. But given what's been done to the state since then, he's apparently the least disastrous of the disastrous choices available. California's been in the toilet since Prop 13 and it just keeps flushing.

Carly Fiorina would have made Brown look sensible or Ahhnold look humble in comparison, however. A MAJOR win for California that she lost. A bigger win would be if she and the corps that funded her just went back under the rocks they crawled out under. You've got better chances in Vegas.

Dennish. People have not even taken office and you are already saying negative things about them. So sad.
