Navy, fishing boats collide off South Korea; sailors missing

A South Korean Navy patrol boat sank after a collision with a larger fishing boat off the southern island of Jeju late Wednesday, leaving at least two sailors missing, according to news reports from South Korea.

Yonhap news agency reported the navy patrol boat was on a training mission when the collision occurred just before 11 p.m. local time. It said two sailors were missing.

South Korea’s YTN news website said one sailor was killed and two were missing. Search missions were under way but high seas were hampering the effort, according to the YTN report.

Unilikey anything to do with the North. If it happened near Jeju Island, that's far, far away from anything hostile. LIkely driver error.

People said the same thing when the South blamed the North for sinking a ship. So if they blame the North, they're lying, but if they say it was their own fault, they're also lying? Are you really that thick?

Anyone thinking South Korea is mooching off the US is living in a box. We are not the world's charity. The US's miliary presence in NorthEast Asia is there to secure 25% of our international trade, and 25% of the world's trade. Without that forward presence you can kiss your SUV, ipod and suburban mansion good-bye.

North Korea only exisits today due to President Trumans failure to Nuke them
into submission in 1951. If they continue on their path of Nuclear Developement and missile technology it needs to be an option on the table again regardless of what Russia and China belive. We have just a cease fire in place not a peace treaty.

Geez, Frank... do you know anything at all about that period of history? If Truman was to even threaten to use even tactical nukes, it would have escalated quickly from plaintive sabre-rattling by North Korea to a full-out nuclear exchange backed by Red China, and supplied by the Soviet Union.
Take a few moments and try to imagine yourself sitting in the Oval Office in President Trumans' shoes and really THINK about your previous comment.

@Kim. I'd rather just send an assassination team to kill the Iranian President. He is hateful, dangerous, and so obnoxious. An Iranian woman was shot in Iran because she did not participate in an Iranian "Hate America" rally. Government murder.

just think how much nicer if truman had nuked them.

i still haven't figured out why we havn't stealth nuked iran and blamed on them messing around and having an accident.
