'Pedophile's guide' pulled from

The controversial e-book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure" has been pulled from, a spokesman for the online retailer confirmed Thursday.

The self-published title's appearance on led to a public uproar and calls for a boycott of the site. As of late Wednesday, more than 2,000 users had left comments on the listing, nearly all of them condemning the site for selling the title.

The e-book's author, Phillip R. Greaves II, said he published the controversial tome to address what he considers unfair portrayals of pedophiles in the media.

When asked about the controversy, spokesman Drew Herdener would not respond.

You could argue for or against it but at the end of the day we could use it as previously mentioned to track people buying it. Alas another wasted opportunity.

That is disgusting that Amazon would allow this book to be sold. Who would do such a thing? This is a book about pedophiles for crying out loud people!

I disapprove of censorship, but I can understand why Amazon doesn't want its brand identified with a shocking "Pedo's Guide" like this. Unfortunately for our children, however, there are plenty of other places where the pedo author can find a market.

If it manifests enough to be a lifestyle then it is a crime. What are you talking about?

@PARROT Strictly speaking you're right but when most people see 'pedophile' they read 'child molester' which is a crime. The terms have become synonymous.

This is NOT about is merely one company not willing to distribute a book..if you believe this book should be sold, then open an online bookstore yourself!

You have it a little mixed up. Amazon were willing to sell the book until a whole bunch of people threatened to boycott them unless they pulled it. What you should have said was "If you want to not sell it in a bookstore you should open your own bookstore and not sell it". Do you see the difference in perspective ?

Unfriggen believable. I refuse to have any dealings with amazon now. Phillip needs to be hung by his tiny balls for making such crap for innocent children to ge their hands on. Who but a pervert cares about pedophile profiles? There is totally no unfair portrayals of any such person in my book. Here's an idea.......letshave a bookburning party and include the peds too.

Aiysha reported that when her little friends came over to play dolls, they would run away when the "prophet" came around. Apparently a bunch of nine-year old girls had more sense than their parents who follwed that depraved beast.

Yes ban all books that are designed to spread hate or harm others. Can't we turn the corner in human evolution towards a positive direction.?

Absolutely! How about you start the ball rolling by not defining yourself as "AwhiteGuy"?

Cut the pingas off the pedophiles! Castrate them so they may not harm another precious child. If that doesn't work execute them. Cuba at least has one of the lowest child molestation rates in the world. Fidel and his cronies don't tolerate that filth!

And I agree with the one post. You people are acting like only wannabe paedophiles want to read it. What exactly is the context of the book? Parents should know what to look out for,who to look out for!
